First of all, we'd like to thank the Shinkansen's team for the excellent work during the recent platinum price surge, which led to a huge production demand we would have been unable to exploit as effectively as we did without your help.
Ionic is a research-oriented branch of Kishiro Technologies, so our bulk shipping capacity is fairly modest, and our laboratories are really testing the limits of our fleet. When the Shinkansen is operating in the area and not otherwise contracted, we could really make use of her titanic hauling capabilities for supplies.
This would only involve very short trips, as all the station's basic needed goods are traded at installations in the immediate vicinity of the labs.
Obviously, you'd be adequately compensated for your work.

I will be sure to pass on your praising words to our humble crew of the Shinkansen, flying a barge is by no means an easy task and we pride ourselves on our pilots performances so far.
I represent Kishiro Innovations, another branch of Kishiro's many R&D departments. The Shinkansen is one of several of our logistical vessels to ensure we have the materials needed for our projects. Normally we'd be loathe to loan out such a valuable asset, however as you are a direct colleague and we are currently in the middle of a tender with the Kusari government, we currently have no dedicated project to slot the Shinkansen in.
As such we will be glad to assist you with this endeavor, keep in mind however once the tender resolves we might need its unique capabilities once more. Hopefully your logistical needs will have been met by then so it won't cause issues.
Costs and compensations will be deducted from your departments cost center, let us bring Kishiro and Kusari to a brighter future.

Unfortunately, expansions are a distant prospect. The nature of the installation means any construction project will be hugely disruptive of our educational process, so we have to do everything in small increments.
