Hi
I was wondering if the Game could generate other things to destroy apart from Space Stations and Weapons
Platforms in missions? or perhaps different mission content,like retrieving Alien items,freeing captives or carrying
messages.
Your thoughts..

How about transport missions get "item" from point "A" to "B".

I for one think this is a wonderful idea. To have different and more creative types of missions to break up the monotony a little - such as, having more NPC lines, or maybe a different way to go about it altogether by, for example, being forced to pit your allied gunboat reinforcements against cruiser spawns and you have to pick off the remains, or maybe something like large enemy fighter spawns and a hearty side dish of green units to back you up to create cool dogfights and to also make missions more engaging in general. Heck, what about a mission where you have to kill a convoy, steal an item and defeat another wave of enemies who intercept you at another location? That would be dope too.

Unfortunately, this game's engine is literally as old as I am. I do not think it is even feasible to add in new types of missions to begin with. A small rework to break up the monotony would probably be nice, but I am sure they've already been remade and reworked to be as fair and balanced as possible. As of right now, you get to fight some bombers while taking basic 1k to 3k VHF missions and higher level missions where you'll have a tougher time fighting multiple cruisers while on a gunboat, and so on. (Do not take my word for gospel, as I'm not very familiar with how most missions are designed myself.)

Although I will say that the old crusty ass jpeg for the mission thumbnail should maybe be changed. It's so low quality it's laughable.

sadly I think missions are one of those things that are hardcoded to make 'types' so we cant really make them (like trading missions) without doing flhook plugins
