yeah im makeing a story (all be itnow greatly accelerated due to recent events) and i need to lknow would an ex army captian (naimly jimmy my main charcter)be oorp/special rp/ if he bougnbt his old now mothballed gunboat thats set to be melted down and made it his home as hes a freelancer id run in brentionia and edgeworlds mabye even way out as far as omegas or omercrons just anywere away from liberty because frankly i dont make alotta charcters and im sick of this one ever present think in liberty"OHH BIG SHIP LETS KEEL IT OR OHH LAWFUL LETS PEW PEW HIM WITH A BAJILON PIRATE CRAFT translation:

I don't see too many issues - as long as you don't operate in Rheinland or Kusari, I don't think the lawful authorities will mind you. Unlawfuls on the other hand, will.
Well there is teh list of ships and weapons for Freelancers and mercs.. but i dont see a reason why not.. if you act as a lawful Freelancer you should be fie... on the other hand i saw "Merc's and FL's" that try to play for both sides.
Hogosha ship aiding the LN Barghest as well.... makes me wonder if its Just poor RP or its just me who thinks its wrong.

As for the GB, i would request a special rp for it.
That's not the case anymore. Go to Barrier Gate in Coronado with about 2m in cash, and pop-goes-the-Freelancer-Tag.
You would probably need some sort of special RP to have a liberty GB out anywhere other than Liberty systems, especially if you're not a HF or 522. I know I'd look twice if I saw a Liberty GB in O5. I honestly don't see a problem with it as your background and RP are pretty solid.
My question is what would you do with your gunboat? Also, your armament would be different wouldn't it? probably have to lose the forward cannon (Liberty wouldn't give that away) and the liberty turrets if you have any in favor of basics or other common turrets.
