Posted here for your conveniance, my two alternatives to the three death rule.

1) Increasing Penalties System; Offers chances to come back and try to even the score, but the results of failure climb higher every time.
1 Death - Your ship is heavily damaged and forced into a retreat. It will take some time to repair everything.
2 Deaths - Your ship is disabled and crippled. You must be towed back into base and get a new ship. Repairs are still possible, but it is generaly more cost effective to buy a new one. It is at this time that capture is possible, since you are at the mercy of the enemy.
3 Deaths - Your ship is utterly destroyed, only useful as scrap if even that. You barely escaped with your life, huddling in an escape pod hidden in the wreakage.
4 Deaths - You are dead. Your ship is reduced to component atoms and your frozen and torn apart body was found in the wreakage.

2) One Life To Live; You only get the one life. You die, that's it. No comming back to the fight.

Please vote and post comments.

This is the real true story of rock and roll; it was not about anything more then, how to live your life, as a gangster, in sartorial splendor, and turning the world into a place where normality would never return again...- Malcolm McLaren

One is plenty...

Otherwise we'll get all kinds of arguments between the people who find it far more important to keep score than to actually play the game.

One death plain and simple... no he said/she said about who did what or who died when...

What do you mean? If your character Dies then they are gone and you can't play them any more? Clarify this and I can vote. Thx mate.

One life per-fight.

yea im definetly a fan of the one life choice, i dont like fighting someone three or four times. it gets annoying, and sometimes nasty, and most of the time i have better things to do as well.

but mostly, its because its the most realistic.

Well...

I voted to keep the three. But after a little more thought....

I like the 1 n done.

So if posable, change my vote to the "1 life to live"

If not... Oh well. I better read ALL post next time before making a vote!:laugh:

I am in favor of the one death rule it makes sense and is very good and will prevent people from pretty much defying all RP and reality....

I kinda like Kane's increased penalties system, but the main issue here, is that the 3-death rule, isn't a rule. Its only a gentlemen's rule that can't be server-enforced as its not a server-rule.

I vote make it a rule, and make the penalties system idea.
