Benito was born on Planet Crete. Like his father, and his father's father before him. His mother, Adriana, was a successful businesswoman, which meant she was smart, and a smuggler. His father, Alberto, was less smart. His smarts were compensated by good flying skills and impressive exploits. Benito never understood how this relationship came to be. It’s very likely that many years ago, his father was respected by the elders, and marriage would give his mother access to the wealthy and influential within council of elders. She was too smart for her own good.
His father, on one of his many rides to Bretonia, discovered a new passion. Gin. Over time, this naturally led to family feud. Pair settled their disagreements like the Corsairs would. In space, guns blazing.
Adriana, unlike Alberto, could still fly straight. Alberto crashed into his wife’s transport. However, ruptured oxygen tanks made sure she wouldn’t return home either. Benito’s brethren recovered his mother’s body in one piece, thus, it was decided that she won the argument.
He inherited his mother’s ship, leaving the sticking bits of M-7 class fighter intact, and re-christened it with the name “Agujero Grande” eng. “Big hole”, to commemorate his father’s last daring charge.
Benito was educated to the highest Corsair standard possible - he spent his youth surfing Neural net. From his early days, His mother would put great emphasis on English, so he doesn’t sound like his father. His father, on the other hand, disturbed by seeing a small boy spending his youth reading e-books, would often take small Benito to fly his ship with him.
As Benito reached the respected age of 16, It was finally the time for him to pass the trials, to prove his worthiness to be clothed, fed and trained by the Corsair armada. However, a question popped in his mind.
-”What’s in it for me?”
… somehow doubting his brethrens' purity of heart, and superiority of form. He eventually abandoned not only trials, but the Corsair Empire too. His brethren, seeing that they boy did not possess the spirit of self-sacrifice, were absolutely fine with writing out another mouth to feed and letting him go.
Years passed. Turns out Benito’s parents’ education taught the boy how to fend for himself well. Benito, sharing his mother’s entrepreneurial spirit, seeks his fortune within the Sirius Sector. As for the Corsairs, old wounds healed and they let him stay around from time to time.
