The Civil Defence Initiative

Personnel Records and Notes

Chief Inspector,

The Police Logistics Office Database is an archive used to store paperwork relating to your active service staff. This will usually include:
  • Their initial CDI application statement, or a summary of it, or a transfer form
  • a summary of biographical information (where known) from standard background checks (when conducted),
  • a summary of their active service record,
  • any commendations or disciplinary actions,
  • declarations of interest (when submitted)
  • comments from flight commanders and commanding officers
Please note that our paperwork is quite... partial. The state of recordkeeping during the war was generally poor, and I'm led to believe we also lost quite a lot that was stored aboard the Gwent when that went down.

Some of our pilots have also been quite evasive in terms of completing background checks. I am led to believe previous commanding officers, ah, overlooked this issue in the interest of retaining high performing constables.

Access to personnel files are typically locked down to only HR staff, and appropriate management officers, i.e. a constable's flight sergeant or squadron inspector. For sensitive files, we may apply tighter restrictions.

Should you have any questions about how PLOD words, or how to access or archive relevant records, please don't hesitate to give me a ring. I believe Rebecca also wanted to schedule a meeting with you to discuss records retention and data quality.

Yours sincerely

[+]family pass?
rtauley2: 03:14, 05-02-819
constable howard approached me today for an update on getting seats off leeds for his wife + kid? says they weren't eligible for evac bc not priorty employment + no luck on lotto draw. spouse in CDI gets u bumped? hr to confirm?

rtauley2: 14:49, 15-06-819
alfie is pushing for an updateon this. hr have passed roster to bpa + mod but no confirmation. hes pretty upset about situation.

rtauley2: 08:10, 11-11-819
bastard hit me today. put a reprimand on file but i really can't blame him for being pissed off so not taking it any further. called hr to chase again, this is getting ridiculous

mbrown4: 21:55, 03-06-820
Jesus Christ, is this still not sorted? Escalating to the Chief Inspector, get this poor man's family off Leeds!

mbrown4: 21:55, 23-08-820
Alfie just confirmed his wife's shuttle was tagged by a flechette missile shortly after take-off. No survivors. Fuck.

qraleigh: 23:29, 23-08-820
I sympathise, I really do. This news is truly awful, and my heart goes out to Special Constable Howard and all those affected by Gallic aggression. However much it pains me, I can't authorise bereavement. We've had 12 constables killed this week, Howard is one of our survivors. We need him and anyone else we have on hand patrolling the lanes and holding the line, or we'll be facing anarchy in Omega-3 by month's end.
[+]Professional development
mbrown4: 21:40, 03-06-820
Adding a note as a reminder to self to have a word with Alfie about wing leader training to prep for applying for sergeant. With the employment history & recent Wilkes incident, it's criminal he's not there already. Clearly has the aptitude. Wouldn't be surprised if he's hit inspector by '22.
mbrown4: 09:10, 16-10-820
Alfie's going off the rails, don't know how to get through to him. Need to have a word with Amy for ideas. If this carries on, he's going to get himself or one of us killed.

jkeller: 11:30, 01-05-825
I'm putting Alfie forward for a Sergeant role. He's not happy about this, but I'm not giving him a choice. Losing Sgt Cassidy was a tragedy, and we desperately need someone capable to take on command of his wing. Alfie's been doing this for a while now, has a proven track record, and had wing duties with BMM back in the day. I'm partnering him with Amy Torbet to learn the ropes on the job, and we'll see how that goes.
tdales: 23:50, 08-11-826
I've been scoping out Howard as a potential fit for inspector. God knows, we need some more good ones after the absolute horror of the Gwent and New London. So far he's pushed back pretty hard; not interested in squadron responsibility. His wings have comparatively good survival rates though, and I think he's a good pick to drill those survival instincts into the greens.
[+]Ground order. UPDATE: Lifted
mbrown4: 15:02, 20-03-821
I've issued a disciplinary over Special Constable Howard's conduct on patrol along The Line today. He is behaving erratically, bordering reckless and placed himself at excessive risk when chasing a suspect alone into an asteroid field. The ground order has been signed off by Inspector Jones and filed with HR while we work through this -- this can't go on.
qraleigh: 17:01, 23-03-821
Ground order lifted. We need all capable pilots operational.
[+]Catchup?
htimson1: 08:30, 21-10-834
I've reviewed Sgt Howard's file - he's one of our longest serving pilots, has some extremely distinguished service under his belt. Has refused to progress from sergeant? I have some questions. Insp Mayfield, I'd like a meeting to discuss at some point over the next week or so.

[+]File access
htimson1: 11:34, 07-11-834
Adding this note to document prior discussion. Harold is to seal this file as eyes-only for inspectors upward. We’re taking an extreme gamble on Delcroix’s enlistment, and if word spreads about her background and nationality, we may well have a lynching on our hands.

hhopper: 12:03, 07-11-834
All done. If anyone else runs a search, they’ll get a restricted page and flagged on the audit log. I’ve set the log so it’ll notify Inspector O’Sullivan. Bear in mind that the other sergeants who’d normally have access will likely assume she’s one of your seconded professional standards agents.

htimson1: 12:23, 07-11-834
That’s fine. Should keep them on their toes.
[+]Data integrity?
rstaines: 15:10, 10-11-834
Hi, I’ve been doing the admin to get JM’s PLOPS access configured and noticed the full service history we have recorded. Has this gone thru validation? I know for a fact that we don’t have reciprocal data sharing agreements with the Gallic Union for background checks, and they likely wouldn’t give us wartime records even if we did.

hhopper: 16:50, 10-11-834
Hi Rebecca. I believe most of this is self-reported from the enlistment interview (+ follow-ups) run by O’Sullivan. I understand the Inspector gave JM the whole 9 yards, given the ‘unusual’ circumstances. It’s probably as accurate as we can hope for, under the circumstances.
[+]Career track
gosullivan3: 23:19, 17-11-834
Adding note to flag Montgomery as a potential career officer. Observation during recent operations and review of submitted field reports indicate a good grasp of the brief and survival instincts - a lot of potential. Definitely worth further monitoring, and mentoring towards sergeant in due course, should she survive initial deployments.

htimson1: 13:20, 23-11-834
The loss of Flynn and Butcher means we’ve severely shorthanded on field leaders for your and Mayfield’s squadrons. We’re not at Packard Protocol levels yet, but it’s a close run thing. I’m pulling the trigger on this now and putting her forward as a prob sgt. Training can be backfilled later. We need someone local to those sqdns given their reputation for being “difficult”. Candidate pool on offer isn’t exactly thrilling.

gosullivan3: 14:01, 23-11-834
Noted. This feels rushed, but we’ll make the best of a bad situation. I’ll keep a close eye on both Montgomery and Pickering. Sink or swim.

[+]Kidnapping
gosullivan2: 03:14, 26-11-834
So, Pickering gets attacked, drugged, and kidnapped by some Zoners under the guise of a "medical emergency." They haul him out of Bretonia and dump him on Planet Prague later. He’s fine, physically, but the guy's been making this whole thing a much bigger deal than it actually is. The other constables who were grabbed with him? Barely mentioned it, just happy to be back on duty. Pickering, though? He’s obsessed.

gosullivan2: 14:49, 27-11-834
He’s been spending days trying to piece together some kind of “crime ring” involving Zoners, but honestly? The whole thing sounds like a stretch. He’s got this one-track mind now. Everyone else seems to be getting back to normal, but Pickering’s got his head stuck in some investigating this crime syndicate that might not even be real. Still, no one can doubt his loyalty to the constabulary. He's a nutter but he’ll do anything for his fellow constables.

gosullivan2: 08:10, 01-12-834
The guy’s juggling tasks like the best of them... but also, he’s taking it way too far. It’s like he thinks he’s some kind of hero after all this. Let’s get him a mentor or something, get him to chill out a bit. Maybe he did bump his head too hard that day? He’s not exactly the same Pickering we knew, but when he’s in the cockpit, you know he’s still top-tier. Just need to rein in the drama.

htimson: 21:55, 04-12-834
I think he's doing fine, just give him more work to do so he doesn't get bored. I've authorized him for the internal heavy weapons programme, I bet he'll love to take that new Havoc for a spin in due time.

tdales: 21:55, 06-12-834
So, spill the tea! Any update on the kidnapping case?

htimson: 23:29, 06-12-834
we've put Inspector O'Sullivan on that case, but she's taking her sweet time. I've heard she's been taking lots of time off to go bowling?
[+]Evidence Locker Key
gosullivan2: 21:40, 27-11-834
Can someone give Pickering a copy of the narcotics evidence lockup keycard, so he doesn't need to bother others over it all the time. I don't know what he needs the access for, frankly I don't care, his drug test the other week came out negative.
gosullivan2: 09:10, 28-11-834
Might as well add him to Narcotics Operational Command to avoid more paperwork.

emayfield: 11:30, 29-11-834
That can be arranged.
tdales: 23:50, 01-12-834
Can someone ask him to deal with the inventory numbers? things don't add up but I'm sure he'll figure something out.
[+]Unconventional Methods
htimson: 08:40, 05-12-834
Have you seen his latest guncam footage involving the shootout with those Royalists the other day?
gosullivan2: 09:10, 05-12-834
The man is a first class bullshit artist
