The Banished Legion is a highly organized and coordinated group of pirates appearing to have originated out of Ithaca Station in Omega-7. The lions share of the membership consists of former disgraced military personnel from each of the houses while other percentages are made up of bloodthirsty mercenaries and various others from more organized criminal empires seeking to strike out on their own.
The leadership is shrouded in mystery with no one individual seeking to announce themselves as the individual in charge. The rationale behind this move is to ensure that the leadership is protected from attempted assassinations. To see this tactic used in real time, you only need to look to the Militants of Pennsylvania for how successful this cell structure operates.
They have been known to hire themselves out to other pirate organizations for a multitude of operations. From base sieges, pirate runs, or even delivering attacks on various groups as a message. Intelligence factions have even used them for staged attacks on other houses as a means to soften up their enemies while remaining out of the line of fire. All this to say, the Legion only cares for money. What they want out of you is besides the point. If the pay is right, they will follow through...but be sure your enemies don't pay more, lest they end up on your doorstep.
While the Legion operates partly as pirates for hire, their main motus operandi is to earn credits and that includes pirating unsuspecting traders passing through the area they may be operating in at the time. Though because more than half of their operators are former military, even disgraced, they generally don't destroy their prey; only doing so as a last resort if the transport captains don't pay up.
Many of their number are former house military personnel who either are disgraced by their home governments or feel like their governments abandoned them to the wolves after giving the best years of their lives to protect their leaders; only realizing later that those very leaders had abandoned them when they needed them most. Luckily for those individuals being caught in their net, the target of their ire is not the transports or their captains, but the corporations and their masters in the government. Follow their directions, don't run or ignore them, and chances are you will survive unscathed. Insult them, attempt to run, or attack and you will discover that the training they received from their military service is a sharp as ever, and aimed directly at you.

Our goal is to be the pirate you want to run into: The Polite Pirate. Heavily roleplay oriented, our biggest goal is to generate stories, logs, and other content for not only the mod but for the community. No transportation company, Freelancer or otherwise, is off-limits to being pirated but generally speaking we're pretty chill and as long as we're paid you won't get blown up--don't worry, we won't take much from you. Try to run though, and you'll be sucking space-dust.
Secondly, LGN acts as a counter to the increase of "Silent/AFK Power Traders". While we won't outright kill traders who willingly roleplay with us when stopping you, any who attempt to run silently, or noRP engage us will be met with lethal force and your cargo taken by our frigates to sell ourselves. Generally, we're only going to ask for 20k credits. If you piss us off, we might demand half of your cargo...but you will live to make it to your destination. We're not out to ruin others fun, but we do expect you to uphold the requirement of roleplay as this is a roleplay server.
Additionally, while LGN is a RP faction first and PvP faction second, you're expected to be civil towards people even when they are hostile towards you in OORP situations. More than once flying as LGN, I've had people attack me in PM's after the fact. As a pirate, you're expected to have tough skin and shrug off these OORP attacks. Log their name, and report them. Simple as. Do not engage in those situations.
Finally, with LGN being focused on roleplay as a central component to the faction, AI slop is not allowed. It's not hard to tell when a post or story is AI created and there are plenty of tools out there which can sniff this stuff out. If you do AI slop as a part of LGN, you'll be out on your ear. I have no patience for AI generated crap, and I'm not going to have it be apart of a faction I run. You have been warned ahead of time.
