Kusari Unlawful base in Shikoku?

Now, seeing as the Shikoku system is pretty much dead beyond random traders, and the jumphole/jumpgate configuration precludes most of the normal Kusari unlawfuls from really getting there, I have a suggestion.

A small base of either GC or Dragon affiliation somewhere in one of the clouds in the west of the system. While Kusari Quasi Lawfuls (Hogosha + FA) can dock on most of the bases, and have Kagoshima right next door through the Kyushu Jumphole, the unlawfuls are far removed from the system (although there are lots of NPCs, indicating they get there SOMEHOW).

This would make the system a bit more desirable for unlawfuls to operate in, thus the lawfuls would have something to do therin.

So, I'd like feedback on the idea. Keep it civil or I summon Dusty.

All that begins must end.

neither GC or Dragons make sense as both generally have their homes in Northern Kusari. With Planet Juyno so close, an FA base makes a bit of sense. From a smuggling standpoint, a Hogosha base makes a bit of sense.

Thing is, there are GC + Dragon NPCs about. Regularly attacking tradelanes.

As a possible alternative, I'd suggest a more accessable Jumphole then Kyushu <-> Shikoku, due to Kagoshima's presance. Plus, Kagoshima is right there. Which both the FA and Hogosha can dock on. As well, they can dock on Junyo as well.

The Unlawfuls don't have anything in the system, nor little means of entering it. I can see your point about having them MAINLY in Northern Kusari, but if they don't have something in the system (either a base or an access point) then where would that many get in from?

All that begins must end.

In Shikoku you dont need Dragons or GC, what we should be getting is Liberty Rogues coming up from the border worlds, but they dont need a base in Shikoku.

The volume of NPC traffic as well as several rumors indicate otherwise. It is stated that Dragons regularly attack Fuchu, and GC make supply runs to Leiden. They'd both need some sort of waystation to be able to make it through that far.

Alternately, you could remove the GC and Dragon NPCs from the system, to represent that they had been sucessfully removed since Vanilla timeframes. I am not opposed to that idea, but giving the unlawfuls presance in Shikoku makes it a bit less dull and inactive a system.

All that begins must end.

Honestly, I don't see a reason (or a way) for any of the 4 unlawfuls to have a base there. FA and Hogosha can use Planet Junyo, but still have to deal with Lane Hackers and BHG to fight with. But they wouldn't waste money on a base down there when they've got a Samura planet to use. Plus FA will be spending quite a bit of its available resources on its operations in Nagano in .86. Hogosha are busy with Okinawa and muscling there way into the Tau/Bretonian stations KNF has taken.

GC don't really need a station down there, save for trading with the Lane Hackers. There isn't much else of interest for them in Shikoku, except Fuchu prison. Same for the Blood Dragons. Besides, it'd be far away from their bases that, as Zelot said, are in Northern Kusari. It'd be a nightmare to supply the base that wouldn't bring much benefit. GC just go to Leiden in Kepler if they need a place to stay in Southern Kusari. Its safer from KNF too, and GC won't have to worry about supplying or defending it.

Dab and Zelot both make valid points.

My main concern was the general dead-ness of the system as it is now, and the fact that there is pretty much nothing in the western clouds aside from the Jumphole to Fuykoka (or however you spell it)

All that begins must end.

I realy like the system as it is now, besides Sigma-17, its the finest vanilla system in all sirius.

Hogosha and Farmers can base at Juno, GC could do so at leiden, only the poor dragons have to come from Ainu and two jumpholes.

if the system realy needs another base, make it a kishiro mining base (or something like that).

Kishiro does not need a mining base in Shikkou, we are represented by Deshima Station where we have quite a large factory already.

It could certainly use something, as it's easily the most boring of Kusari systems. That's even considering how much of my Samura captain and AFA's backgrounds are involved there.

You know what might be interesting? A Junkers depot in the south cloud. GC and Hackers could visit, the Junkers could try and get into Kusari and fail, and the BHG could even hunt them if they left the cloud. Or something, I dunno, though Pieguy had a good description for a possible base.

Of course, there's also the issue of how in vanilla both the GC and Hogosha went to Leiden which no longer makes any sense.

In any case, do something to make it more interesting.
