About

Horizons began as "The Horizons Project" in which a single modified Luxury Yacht was purchased with a small injection of money from investors. It was used mainly for mapping star charts of various systems throughout the sector. However, as funding quickly began running out, the leader of the Horizons Project made an executive decision that would change the direction of the entire project.

Using the remaining funds at his disposal, Jax Burton purchased a dated Passenger Liner and began operating a ferry service which would run from Gallia, to the Omegas, to Liberty, and a multitude of other places. The Liner, named the Solitude was a no questions asked kind of transportation service throughout all of Sirius and Gallia space. This quickly made a load of credits. This changed Jax's entire outlook on how to run the Horizons Project which quickly became Horizons LTD. and shortly there after simply Horizons. They leased a Renzu Liner from the Orbital second fleet and began running luxury flights to various locations throughout the sector. This proved to be immensely popular as well and credits continued rolling in.

It was here that a decision was made. The Horizons Project that began this entire journey would be put on the back burner and the Travel, Trade, and Transportation side of the business would take the reigns. Shortly there after, a cargo shipping department was stood up and Horizons began it's meteoric rise to profit. Beginning as a humble 10 person organization, Horizons now stands to become the premiere group to request cargo, vacations, or travel from for the foreseeable future.

Important Info

Horizons is a pet project of mine that I'm just doing for fun. It's the wrapper in which I do all of my transportation across Sirius and POB supply (with some untagged ships for my own freewheeling as I see fit). If you want to join, check the recruitment post! Keep in mind though that if you want to join, you are expected to have a high caliber of roleplay skill. While one of the purposes of Horizons is to make money, the other is to create a good experience for those who interact with us, and yes that includes pirates. Generally, just have fun with it and don't take it too seriously. It also goes without saying that, if you use an LLM to make your recruitment post, I'll be ignoring it completely. Be creative and write your own without ChatGPT or another LLM.

I've made a comm. post here in the past detailing what Horizons does in character, but allow me to go into further detail OOC so that you can know what we do and if this is something that might be up your alley.

Passenger Travel & Ferry Services
Passenger travel is the movement of passengers through Sirius using Liners or any ships capable of moving those bulky cabins. This is a fun way to make money and interact with other players in space telling them to be sure to make a vacation...however this can go even further should you wish to pursue it. Docking Bays on your ship enable for other players to dock with you and fly with you. My idea is for people to dock with the Liner, you fly to your next destination, and they undock. They give you some credits (doesn't have to be a lot especially if you are already bringing the passenger commodity with you) and they can go on their way.

POB Supply
With the new changes to POB's and the variety of crafting options available now (as well as more on the way), bringing in materials can be a full time job. Allow Horizons to help by bringing in these materials or supplementing your already existing transports. I want to approach this by forming a contract between Horizons and the customer to ensure that an understanding is made on what materials are to be brought in and the amount needed.
*Open ended contracts are not desirable but can be done provided the rewards are sufficient.
*There will be no contracts made to maintain a base with FOW. This is the base owners job.

Specialty Cargo
Horizons is a Freelancer oriented faction. Meaning, we sometimes color outside of the lines. If you are a group that requests materials otherwise banned by House Governments (such as Xeno Relics or Azurite Gas as an example) we can bring these in for you. However, it will require extra money to do so as to mitigate the risk our "pilots" will have. Not to mention the possibility of besmirching our good name. This also relates to any active events that may be happening. Should you wish to hire us to help with those events, please feel free to do so.
