I've been a good person my whole life. I always did what my parents told me to do, followed the law, and was an upstanding citizen. So when the boss orders me to dive head-first into uncharted space so that we can take potshots at creepy glowing things, I have to ask myself... why me? People call me paranoid but honestly, I feel like my knack for knowing where there's danger is what has kept me alive thus far... Stepping into uncharted space sets off my alarm bells, unlike anything else.

*ahem*

Yesterday at about 22:00s we departed from Sapporo to head for a little trip to Uncharted Space. Tomakomai needed some Cryo-whatchamacallits and we were going to check a new potentially dangerous route. Apparently, that made me perfect for the job. Cool. When I asked if we get hazard pay I was met with silence. Nonetheless, I fired up the Yami and took her for a spin. What am I, some kind of mook? Anything for the company I guess.

Took this one after jumping in. Creepy. Earhart I think this one is called?

After jumping in, we were directed to a set of coordinates. I could have sworn I heard tapping on my cockpit, but my shields were up. Either way, the less time spent in Earhart, the better. It didn't take long for us to get to the next system. I have to admit, for something so unsettling, it was pretty. I'd still rather be back in Hokkaido though.

The boss told me to take up drawing instead of just taking pictures. I guess it helps put me a little at ease. I like this one. Mom would be proud.

After arriving at the coordinates we got to mining. We had to shoot at Blue Balls. Hah. Annoyingly every now and then I'd pick up some water by mistake. I'm already hydrated enough, so that just frustrated the process.

We grabbed a few Cryos before we pissed off back to home base, narrowly avoiding any dangers that would be happy to shred my Drone to pieces. We got a good haul, hopefully Tomakomai can put it to good use. I still can't shake off this feeling we were somewhere we weren't supposed to be though, that we were being watched the entire time. Could have sworn I heard those tapping noises again on our way back, but I didn't want to alert the team otherwise they'd think I'm some kind of schizo. The last thing I need is mandatory garden leave.

Logistics day today. Tomakomai needs a few supplies for a special order—nothing like slaving away cargo for piss all credits. Time to hop on the Sekushi and ship some materials. At least I'll still get the contribution to my retirement fund...

A scenic trip through Kyushu

Fortunately the cruise through Kusari was fairly easy and I encountered no issues. A few Blood Dragons tried taking potshots at my shield but they couldn't really make a dent. The Big Dragon is quite the ship!

Took a moment to grab a drink off Java before heading home. I'm sure management won't mind

I got to go to Tau-23 for the first time. I've heard stories that it is pretty wild and Outcasts frequent that space a lot. As scared as I was, I didn't encounter any in my short trip. Better for me, I guess. I grabbed the Niobium and then hauled ass back to Hokkaido before giving my luck any chance to take a turn for the worse.

What an exciting trip this was!

Another trip to Earhart. Thought it was going to be a long once but this time we encountered a poor soul who thought they could mine in peace without meddling. They thought wrong. The cargo we fleeced off them after they refused to comply certainly made things easier.

Log for Saturday's trip. It was the big day: months of planning and hard at work creating various highly experimental weaponry samples to hand out to interested parties like the good little Christmas elves we are. We even managed to secure some additional Aegis security for the trip. Unfortunately, I was on holder duty. I don't think I've ever been so stressed in my life. If the Earhart trips weren't bad enough, I had the luck of becoming the most expensive Pinata in Sirus for several hours. My hands are still shaking.

Nonethless, at 19:00 hours we embarked from Sapporo towards Yokohama Shipyard in New Tokyo. We had already secured the interest of Bristol Constructions, who were eager to meet us to obtain some samples. I kept myself docked with some Wine to try and calm my nerves. When it was time to show off the goods. Ahri gave me a good yell through the comms and I undocked. We saw a couple of Bulwarks eager to take some capital ship weaponry. Two Ion Blasters.

Next up we took a trip to Planet Harris in the Tau-31 system to spread more Christmas cheer. You know, I never really thought about it before but the system has a Christmas-y vibe to it. And it was so nice of the Bristol vessels to tag along with us to provide additional security. We ran into a Junker ship there who took some samples from us. Two HOWLERS to be exact. Guncams did not capture successfully during this interaction.

After this, we decided to head home. Once we got to Sapporo though, Ahri got a transmission from some Bounty Hunters in Shikoku who wanted to swing by our convoy, eager to obtain some stock.

After that, we took a nice group picture to commemorate the event. It almost made me forget that I was one stray hit from Fuji from exploding and bankrupting the company.

The rest of the group was feeling sleepy and decided to head off. However just before I docked, I saw an MFE ship appear interested in doing business with us. The scariest part of this is I'd be taking this on without an escort, completely vulnerable, whilst holding the guns. In hindsight I was incredibly brave - really this deserved a promotion or a Christmas bonus. Unfortunately, they didn't take any guns, but they were interested in further exchanges later down the line.

Ryu Nakamura Log #005

All my hard work has paid off and I get a treat. I was flying the company Hegemon for solo trips to the Earhart system to collect materials *shudder* and after all those traumatic experiences I now get to upgrade to a personal Archon. Excellent.

Our mutual contacts at Galway Frontiers were able to build and produce one of these vessels for me. Of course, I had to pick it up, but that simply meant I got to have a nice scenic trip through the Taus and into Bretonia. It had been a while, and most of my recent ventures had been into uncharted space rather than places I knew. So much safer.

Pickup. She's beautiful.

I then took a pretty uneventual trip back home and into Kusari. Nothing of any major consequence or interest happened to me. I wish I had more to say but that's simply it. I'm quite glad I didn't get attacked by pirates or anything nefarious on my way back, as I couldn't arm the ship until I returned home. I would have made very easy pickings for any miscreants.

Dropoff. Still beautiful.

After fitting her with new defences, the Sekushi is now ready for more advanced operations in deep space. This will make a fine addition to our exploration fleet. I can't wait to get spooked again! Thrilling!

At least now it'll be considerably less painful going in and out of Earhart.

Ryu Nakamura Log #006

God knows how, but Ahri somehow managed to magic up some connections with what I assume is a mercenary group who were able to provide us with a rare Daam K'Vosh artifact. I'm not going to question how exactly she managed to pull that off, or how and where these guys got this, but all we had to do in return was provide them with some simple components for a Samura vessel so I won't complain. Not entirely sure why they can't just grab themselves, but whatever.

We set a meeting point at Newport Station in Sigma-13, away from the prying eyes of anyone who might want to disturb our exchange. They decided to arrive with quite the fleet, so it's a good thing I stocked up on extra goods. After pleasantries were had the items were transferred and we took the artifact back to Tomokai.
