Character not found ingame

Hi,

I'm new here so I'm not familiar on how the character management works with the launcher. The game seems to not knowing my character anymore. So here is what happened:

Day 1:

• created account "Eckbert von Ratte" under the category "Freelancer"
  
• My entry appeared in the list under the sub-menue "Freelancer"
  
• started the game and logged onto the server
  
• No character was there so I created a character "Eckbert_von_Ratte"
  
• played with it
  

Day 2:

• Started launcher and it said in a blue screen something like: No account found in the registry. Will create new one
  
• The entry from yesterday was still there
  
• But now there was a second sub-menue (category?) named "Unfiltered" with an account named "New Account"
  
• After selecting the account from yesterday there was no character at the server to use
  
• I deleted the "New Account" and launched the game with the account "Eckbert von Ratte" and the character "Eckbert_von_Ratte" was shown
  
• So I played again with this character and earned some money and bought a transport ship
  

Day 3:

• Started launcher and it said in a blue screen something like: No account found in the registry. Will create new one
  
• Again the entry from yesterday was still there
  
• Again there was a second sub-menue (category?) named "Unfiltered" with an account named "New Account"
  
• I used the export function of the launcher and saved the import/export file
  
• I again deleted the "New Account" in the launcher and launched the game with the account "Eckbert von Ratte" but now the character "Eckbert_von_Ratte" was not there
  
• I think at that moment I created a new character ""Eckbert_von_Ratte" " while still being in the game and started with that. THen logged off.
  
• I re-started the PC to try it again but this time there was no message after starting the launcher. But still only the new character appeared after login
  

Two questions:

How are the characters ingame are connected to the account listed in the launcher?
Is the character "Eckbert_von_Ratte" with the ship and the money still registered somewhere and how can I access it? I have the import/export file with the signature and code of the account. But it seems that my first character is not connected to it.

Hello to you.

Usually, when you have installed the game correctly, you should have this account:

New Account, when you select it, it should appear at the bottom where it said:
''Current Accounts: name'' as showed above.

As for your character to disappear you probably went for the single player which Discovery does not handle. You need to go for the multiplayer.

No, I defintely was using multiplayer. But the character I used earlier was not there. Now I got just the one with rank 1.

Under "current account" is the one I use right now and used the 2 days before. And it's the only one available in the launcher.

And you say it was gone? I am not sure what causes this, but if you meet other issues, this link should be a way if you loose your character, or ask an admin.

I found that page too, but I didn't understand the connection between Account and Character. That's why I was hesitant to use the restoring option.

What is the reason behind having multiple accounts, when I can create different characters on one account? Does the reputation in the multiplayer apply for all characters of one account?

The fact to have many accounts is because one account can have a certain amount of character you can make. And each characters are different. When you make one, you use the command /showrestarts

It will allow you to see the possible faction you want to start as. Once your choice is done, you do /restart (name you saw)

Example, I want to be a navy pilot: /restart LibNavy
You will be kicked out after 10 seconds and once you login, your character will be a navy pilot.
