Ship Registry

To all capital war vessel commanding officers of ARM, register your ship's service history, line of officers who commanded it before you, and all miscellaneous data entries using the following template. Be thorough and have no discrepancies with all information uploaded.

Ship class and name:
"Mako" class battleship, WV-Lockdown

Service history(if any):
Launched off the dry docks from Durban in 828 AS, the "Lockdown" was a prototype vessel based off the Mako. At the time of its construction, when methods were still unorthodox compared to modern methods, it was given a non-standard armament. Its armor plating used the second highest grade of alloys and materials available, otherwise known as "CAUVII" or "Captial armor seventh generation." With a tight schedule and limited funds, the dock and shipyard masters working on this project had little choice but to use cheaper materials that could be bought from elsewhere in Sirius, than rather try to make some themselves.

The second non-standard option was its weapons configurations. Standard would be the issued handout of three primary AR-101 "Arclight" weapons backed by dual EMP pulse cannons. As for heavy weaponry, the standard would have been two TL-25 "Mortar" weapons, or dual heavy mass drivers known as the "Hellbore." The Lockdown was given a far different and rather bizarre loadout. Instead of three AR-101 primaries, it was given four. Instead of dual EMP weapons, it was given only one. For the heavy weapon slots, TL-45 long range heavy mortars were put in the place of the weaker and shorter ranged TL-25 variants.

The usefulness of this ship was highly questionable and heavily criticized by weapon analysts and statistic workers during testing phases. It couldn't withstand as much damage as a standard Mako, nor could it fire for as long as the power core reserves drained far too quickly. They even almost considered the project a total failure and considered scrapping it for what it was worth. However, before this could happen, the dock masters asked for a chance to explain their reasoning for this design. They claimed that they were given the tasks to "expand the tactics of war." They pulled in some officials who just called themselves "investors" who explained to the critics that they were private investors of this project. They explained that this was an experimental design, if it did well, they would have a say in making more of them. If it didn't, then all stocks invested from the private investors would be returned to APM. The critics understanding that they were private investors with "special permission," they backed off and gave the green light for more live field testing.

The idea of the war vessel Lockdown was to be a heavy long range support ship, rather than a short to medium range vessel like a standard Mako. There were no major advantages that the Lockdown possessed, but there were some plus sides despite lacking a proper configuration. The lighter armor allowed for better movement and maneuvering; it could dodge more shots at longer ranges that slower ships would not. A second plus was the range advantage, it could strike at targets at far range, and not return fire in return if their opponent lacked said rad. The obvious weaknesses were short range combat and long recharge time on the power core. Despite having more primary weapons than other ships, its lack for up close heavy weapons made it vulnerable up close. The lack of a power core didn't help either, this meant that the main combat strategy was hit and run tactics. And form of sustained combat would have been suicide in most situations.

The experimental ship was given two months more in testing phase, until the shipyard masters were satisfied with the final results. The ship would serve for two years in the second fleet, under the command of Dom Silverton and his crew. Their first stationed deployment was in Omicron Zeta, where they would use aggressive tactics for two years against the Order already in the system, and Nomads coming from the deeper omicrons. The second was supposed to be in Omicron Delta, when the Lockdown and her crew needed resupplies and a rest from the front lines. But during an exchange of comms from the Lockdown and Nauru's orbiting facilities, there was a brief blackout on communications. Noticing something was wrong, Dom was given the order to return to base so communication relay officers and engineers could check what was going on. It took time for any response, but when comms were finally reestablished, there was only one line of communication heard from the Lockdown. "We will ignore tha- ----, set the jump drive to maximum!"

Seconds following that, the Lockdown and all signs of life, vanished from radar. Both shock and outrage followed suit, as Nauru officials had no idea at first of what happened to their prototype. As punishment, the funders and their managers for this project were placed under trade probation with the Core and were forced to give up all stocks of APM. Some clueless souls simply believed the ship simply fell off radar, while those who listened closely knew better. The ship despite being a prototype, it was under command of Dom Silverton, who was part of the second fleet. Second fleet ships did not have prioritized access to jump drives, which this one had. The deal didn't include a jump drive, which made the funders look very bad. Officials of Nauru concluded that they were lied to for all these years of these "funders" involvement with this project, as a Mako had been stolen right under their noses. Claiming that they found "proof" that this was the case, the backers and their management team punishment escalated. They were banned from both trade rights and membership of Core, as well as any claimed areas of Core space. Following this, they were never seen or heard from again.

For three years, from 832 AS till 835, the ship had been MIA. It however recently returned to the surface, and seemingly out of nowhere. It is unknown where it had been or what it was doing for the last three years, but it has now returned to Omicron Delta. First scans indicated a 94.34837% probability match to the original Lockdown, and was later confirmed when it moored to Durban station outside of Nauru. Core marines were ordered to clear the ship and reach the bridge, as this ship had been missing for three years and was considered as MIA. The entire ship was filled with personnel trained on Nauru proving grounds, while the original crew came from Capetown. Not a singular original crew member who was under Dom's command was discovered, and neither was he. What happened to him was unknown, but official status remains as KIA. Instead, his older brother, Duke Silverton, mysteriously had taken control of the ship (Originally in command of WV-Quasar, status ship destroyed) and listed it as his flagship for the rising ARM regiment within the second fleet.

Officials claimed that this act was folly and that he shouldn't have a claim of such a ship. Since it belonged to the second fleet however, and the first fleet command was dissolved, there was no on in modern time to deny Duke the ship. Since they had no leverage against Duke, they were forced to give in and give him total command to the Lockdown. Now securing the ship and the original blueprint that came with it, Duke sets a plan in motion. Which is to gather an audience to see his representation of the new regiment, the ARM.

Line of commanding officers:
Dom Silverton (MIA)
Duke Silverton (Active service)

Extra information:
Modernized refit, updated loadout, evolved tactics.
