BIOGRAPHY:

"Honor and glory." These are the words that the Kusaka family lives by. For generations they have served to protect the people of Kusari, and their Emperor. They have fought, bled, and died fulfilling their duty. This is the family that Yui was born into.

It was during her childhood that Kusari saw continuous conflicts and wars. Conflicts with unlawful elements within Kusari, wars against neighboring houses, and eventually war against itself. As such, her father and older brother were often away on active duty, and could not spend much time with Yui. Her initial feelings of bitterness and loneliness eventually turned into admiration and jealousy as she grew older. Admiration and jealousy that they could fight, and she couldn't. And so her goal was set: To grow up, train to be stronger, and fight alongside them.

As she became a teenager, her goal remained the same. Thanks to her instructors, she trained in several forms of taijutsu, and kenjutsu. She even started using simulators to learn the basics of space combat. The martial arts she learned not only serves as a means of close combat, but also to improve self-confidence, discipline, and focus. In 828 A.S, Yui graduated from Shirasagi High School, and enrolled into the New Tokyo Naval Academy. Instead of commuting from the Kusaka estate, she started living on campus.

For the next four years, Yui would study and train here. She continued to hone her piloting skills, as well as learn how to command various large ship types. On the non-spacefaring side, she would also learn proper use of firearms, strategy, and first aid. Things would go well until tragedy struck. In 832 A.S, just a few months before graduation, Yui recieved news of an attack of unknown assailants on the Kusaka estate; resulting in numerous casualties. Among the dead were her entire family. She returned home to ascertain the truth, and only found her worse fears realized. Once she saw the bodies, she was overwhelmed with feelings of grief, and rage. In this moment, Yui Kusaka swore vengeance. A funeral was held a week later for everyone that perished, and soon after, Yui and a handful of followers who survived the attack, disappeared entirely.

After weeks of investigation and help from outside sources, Yui was able to trace the assailants to Ropponogi Station. The intel she recieved suggested the assailants were using a secluded part of the station as a base. It was decided that she and her followers would assassinate the ringleader responsible for the attack, and take revenge. The operation went without a hitch, and the assassination was successful, but it wasn't long until they were surrounded. Though they were resolved to die, the others would give their lives to give Yui a chance to escape and live. Begrudgingly, she had no choice but to accept and flee. She boarded a "Starblazer" in the hanger, and just as she was about to launch, the station shook and everything went white.

Rumors would spread when she was spotted on Roppongi Station that day, but due to the nuclear explosion, Yui Kusaka was presumed missing or dead, and the Kusaka family was declared defunct.

In 833 A.S, Yui would reappear healed, and under a different alias.. Alone and without purpose, she started roaming the dangerous Sirius sector, and became a freelancer. She took escort jobs, and worked with other freelancers to operate large transports for trade. Initially she underestimated freelancing, and realized Sirius was more challenging and dangerous than she expected. Thanks to her education, she survived, and found success.

As time went on, Yui casted aside her alias, and is now enjoying her new found freedom. She continues her work as a freelancer, taking jobs and offering help for those who need it. With her family and ancestors in her memories, and a second chance at life, she lives on, and continues to live in accordance to her family's words. "Honor and glory."
