Danger is always a shadow that lingers near the Malvada clouds, no? A lesson every Corsair must learn sooner or later, and one I suspect you have now taken to heart. Out there, in the wilds beyond Crete’s embrace, only the sharpest fangs survive. Yet not all are born with the cunning of a Brotherhood operative or the iron nerves of a seasoned pilot and as such expect no judgement from me.
The Corsair Brotherhood, as you know, values the work of the University of Heraklion and its scholars. Your pursuit of knowledge serves the Empire, and thus any threat to you is an affront to all Corsairs. For a researcher to be harassed, within our sacred borders and protectorates, no less by such pathetic miserables is beyond unacceptable. From your data, it seems these hooligans, as you call them, dared to chase you into Gamma itself. Madre de Dios, Santa Muerte must have shielded you from their clumsy claws. Still, the fact they even attempted such audacity is a matter that demands attention. Rest assured, the Brotherhood will not leave this unchecked.
I will personally request for the local patrols around Freeport 9 to be doubled, their guns sharpened for anything that doesn’t belong. Freeport 9’s administrators will hear from us, and I will see what secrets their station logs might whisper about these intruders. They may try to hide, but the Brotherhood has ways of peeling back the layers of darkness. Should you wish to press charges against these banditos, I also recommend taking your case to the Corsair Court, for that is our equivalent of the Libertonian ''homeland security''. There, the magistrates of the Council of Elders can mete out justice with the weight of Crete behind them.
But listen closely, Señor Montoya: the wilds of Theta are treacherous, and the patrols can only protect so much at once. Heed their warnings and stay to the safe paths, for not every shadow holds a friend.
