The void of Omicron Zeta stretched endlessly beyond the cockpit glass, a sea of silent darkness broken only by the distant glow of Cairo Station. I sat at the bridge of my modified cruiser, the soft hum of the ship’s engines a constant companion. Even out here, away from the influence of the great Houses, I could feel the weight of the storm approaching.

Through encrypted Order channels, I learned of the Core’s latest move. A battlegroup led by the Battleship Mars had been spotted in the system, its escorting drones unlike anything I had encountered before. These were controlled, disciplined—artificial predators. I had seen AI experiments before, but something about this felt... different. Wrong.

The Order command had wasted no time responding. Fleets were being repositioned, strike groups recalled, and reinforcements dispatched to Cairo Station. Among them was my squadron, the Eclipse Wolves. We had just returned from a skirmish in the Omicron Mu, where the IKN Hakodate was destroyed after threatening to destroy Fort Carthage. There had been no time to recover—Omicron Zeta was now the priority.

As my ship accelerated toward the station, I could see the increasing traffic—Order warships, supply freighters, and fighter wings moving into defensive positions. The Core was coming, and this time, they weren’t alone.

I exhaled, gripping the deck. OCV-White-Wolf was once again in the hunt.

The Order was stretched thin. Cairo Station, normally a beacon of defiance against the Core’s ambitions, now stood dangerously vulnerable. I had seen enough of the Core’s ruthless ambition to know what was coming. This wasn’t just a show of force—this was a demonstration. A message to the Houses that the Core’s war machines were ready to be sold to the highest bidder.
A flicker on my scanner pulled me from my thoughts. Multiple signatures—fast-moving, tactical formations. The Core had arrived.

I exhaled slowly, fingers tightening around the deck. I had spent years watching from the shadows, striking when necessary and vanishing before the dust settled. But now, something in my gut told me that this time, I wouldn’t have the luxury of working from the sidelines.

As I adjusted my course toward Capetown, another encrypted burst came through—this time from a familiar source.

Ethan.

"Sam, you better not be anywhere near Zeta right now." His voice was edged with urgency. "There’s movement in Tohoku, and it stinks of Wild influence. We’re seeing strange maneuvers from Kusari forces, and if I had to bet, I’d say they’re being nudged toward Carthage."

My heart pounded. The Core was moving on Cairo. The Wild were manipulating Kusari into striking Fort Carthage. How can that be?. We just destroyed IKN-Hakodate And the Nomads? Silent. Waiting. It was all too perfect.

"I don’t have time to argue, Ethan. I’m already here."

A pause. Then, a quiet curse. "Of course you are."

The comms crackled as my brother sighed. "Alright. If you’re dead set on throwing yourself into this, at least don’t be an idiot. The moment you see an opening, get out. I’ve got a bad feeling about all of this."

I didn’t disagree. But retreat had never been my first instinct.

I took one last look at the distant glow of Cairo Station, my jaw tightening. The Core was coming, and if the Order wasn’t ready, then someone had to be.

For years, I had fought in the shadows, striking from the dark before fading away. It had always been enough. But this time was different. This wasn’t just another battle—it was a reckoning. The Core’s machines, Kusari’s blind ambition, the Wild’s unseen hand… all of it was coming to a head, and we were caught in the storm.

Ethan’s voice still lingered in my ears, the quiet concern beneath his words sharper than any command. The moment you see an opening, get out.

I wanted to promise him I would. I wanted to tell him I’d make it back. But as I tightened my grip on the Deck and ordered to pushed forward, I knew the truth.

Some fights, you don’t walk away from.

The battle had begun.

Space erupted into chaos as the Core’s warships closed in, their sleek hulls cutting through the void like blades. Cairo Station’s defenses lit up, beams of plasma and railgun fire lashing out into the darkness, but it was clear from the start that we were outmatched. The Core had brought everything—capital ships, squadrons of elite fighters, and, worst of all, their AI war machines.

I weaved through the battlefield, my Eclipse Wolves scattered but holding formation as best as we could. The comms were filled with chatter—orders, distress calls, screams cut short. OCV-Romales, one of our strongest capital ships, led the counteroffensive, its cannons carving through the enemy lines. But even it wasn’t enough.

“They just keep coming!” VermilionX's voice crackled through the comms. “Damn AI don’t even flinch!”

He was right. The Core’s human pilots were dangerous, but their AI-controlled fighters were something else entirely—unnervingly precise, adapting to our movements faster than any human could react. They weren’t just machines; they were hunters, and we were the prey.

Then came the moment I’d feared.

“This is Romales—Hull breach! Multiple decks compromised! We’re losing control—”

The transmission cut off as the Order Capital ship erupted in a violent explosion, debris scattering in all directions. A pit formed in my stomach. The Romales was gone. One of our best, reduced to nothing.

The comms fell silent for a fraction of a second—just long enough for despair to take hold.

Then, the impossible happened.

The AI fighters turned. Not toward us, but against their own. One moment they were shredding our forces, the next they were tearing into Core ships with the same ruthless efficiency. Confusion rippled through the battlefield. I barely had time to process what was happening before the Core’s flagship, WV-Orion, became the new target.

“This is our chance!” I shouted, pulling my fighter around.

“Hit Orion with everything we have!” could be heard echoing on Order comms

The remaining Order forces rallied, throwing every torpedo, missile, and cannon round at the Core warship. Without its AI escorts, Orion stood no chance. Its hull buckled under the relentless assault, explosions chaining across its structure until, finally, it ruptured in a massive fireball.

Cheers rang out over the comms, but there was no time to celebrate.

“Carthage is still in danger,” I said, pushing my fighter toward the station. “We’re not done yet.”

With the Core in disarray and their AI in rebellion, we had one last chance. One final push to save Fort Carthage before it was too late.

And I wasn’t planning on failing.

The battle for Fort Carthage had entered its most desperate phase. The destruction of WV-Orion had given us a fleeting advantage, but the road ahead was still fraught with danger. The Core’s forces, though scattered, were relentless, and we were stretched thin. As the remnants of the Order fleet pushed forward. The Zeta assault had decimated our defenses, leaving Carthage almost defenseless.

A chill ran down my spine as the [KNF]IKN-Raiu|39th appeared on the battlefield—a massive, imposing battleship that seemed to carve through space with an air of finality. It wasn’t just the ship's size that made it so terrifying. It was the reputation. The [KNF]IKN-Raiu|39th had been a symbol of Kusari’s military might, a ship forged in fire and capable of turning the tide of any engagement. As it closed in, the atmosphere on the comms shifted—panic, urgency, the frantic calls for reinforcements. Its presence was like a weight pressing down on all of us, suffocating any remaining hope.

"We can’t hold this line much longer!" came the strained voice of Colonel John "VermilionX" Riley, his voice nearly drowned out by the chorus of weapons fire. "That battleship... it’s a wall!"

I could feel the urgency in every word, the realization that Fort Carthage was moments away from falling under the crushing weight of Kusari’s might.

And just as the reality of the situation began to settle in, a sudden, unexpected shift.

His voice rang out over the comms, calm but unwavering:

“Blood Dragons are here. We will make this our fight now. Stand firm, Order. We strike together.”

The Headmaster’s Liner surged forward, a symbol of fury and honor, leading the charge.

Their arrival wasn’t just timely—it was fate. The tide had shifted.

It felt like a dream. The Blood Dragons. We had called for their aid, but in the back of my mind, I had feared they wouldn’t make it in time. But now, I could see them. A flash of red and black against the cold, distant stars—a squadron of Blood Dragon fighters appeared from the darkness, moving with lethal precision, tearing through the Kusari lines like a predator on the hunt. Their ships, sleek and deadly, carved arcs of destruction in their wake, striking fear into the Kusari ranks.

The Blood Dragons fell upon the Kusari lines like a vengeful storm, cutting through their ships and fighters with calculated precision. The [KNF]IKN-Raiu|39th, so imposing just moments before, was now under constant assault, its defenses crumbling as the Blood Dragons and the Order forces worked in unison, slowly but surely pushing the Kusari back. The Headmaster’s leadership was a beacon, guiding his forces through the chaos with an uncanny clarity.

The sight of their assault was almost surreal. The Blood Dragons, in all their ferocity and honor, were a force of nature—unstoppable and relentless. Their arrival had shifted the tides of this battle, and the Kusari forces now found themselves caught between a wall of fire and the jaws of the beast.

As the battle raged on, the tension in the air began to shift. The Kusari forces were being pushed back, their lines crumbling under the pressure of the combined Order and Blood Dragon forces. But just when I thought we might finally have a chance at victory, a familiar voice crackled through my comms.

“White Wolf, you there?”

I didn’t need to hear any more. I recognized that voice all too well.

“Ethan?” I responded, my heart lifting despite the chaos around me.

“Colonel Ethan 'Blood Wolf' Manikshaw, at your service!” Ethan’s voice came through, teasing as always. “And, just so you know, I’m coming back alive this time. You can count on it.”

A laugh bubbled up from deep in my chest. My brother had a way of cutting through the tension, even in the darkest moments.

“I’ll believe it when I see it,” I teased, feeling the weight of the battle shift, even if only for a moment. “Stay safe out there, Ethan.”

“Always do,” came his reply, filled with that same confidence that only Ethan could exude.

There was a brief silence as the battle raged around us, but it felt like the weight of the world had been lifted, even just for a second. We were still in the fight, but with the Blood Dragons at our side and my brother still out there, I knew we weren’t going to give up without everything we had.

Carthage wasn’t lost yet.

And I wasn’t going to fail my people. Not today. Not while there was still breath in my lungs.

The Kusari forces wavered. With the Blood Dragons cutting through their lines and the Order reinforcements pushing in from Zeta, retreat became their only option. The [KNF]IKN-Raiu|39th was barely holding together, and after the loss of IKN Hakodate, they couldn’t afford another battleship’s destruction. One by one, they disengaged, vanishing into the void.

On the bridge of an Order warship, Admiral Solandros stood with the Blood Dragon Headmaster, watching the battlefield clear. The timing of the attacks was too perfect—Kusari and the Core striking together, only for an Order scout to report a massive Nomad fleet massing beyond the lair in Zeta.

"This is no coincidence," Solandros muttered.

The Headmaster nodded. "History repeats itself."

Both men fell silent, remembering the Battle of Toledo sixteen years ago. The Nomads had waited then, striking when the Order and Core had nearly destroyed each other. The result? The loss of Toledo, one of the Order’s greatest strongholds.

Now, the signs were there again.

Before the weight of the revelation could settle, Admiral Naxxramas’s voice cut through the comms—firm, commanding, absolute.

"All forces, prepare for the next engagement. This battle was just the beginning. The enemy watches, waiting for weakness—but they will find none. We hold the line. We do not break. Maintain operational readiness—resupply, repair, and rearm. The next wave is coming, and we will meet it head-on. No hesitation. No retreat. The Order stands ready."

A second of silence followed, then one by one, the acknowledgments came in—each voice sharp, disciplined, unwavering.

“E\V/-OCV-Osiris, standing by.”
“E\V/-OCV-Dim'Mak, prepared for engagement.”
“E\V/-OCV-Sak'An, standing by.”
“OCV-Sed, operational.”
“E\V/-OCV-Aya, weapons primed.”
“Order|CV-Lembos, locked in.”
“OCV-Toledo, engines hot.”
“E\V/-OCV-Wrex, prepped for battle.”
“Adam Helson, Hades Brigades—ready for deployment.”
“Captain Galatea ‘Myrtel,’ prepped and armed.”
“Corporal Astrid ‘Talousem’ Weber, all systems green.”
“Captain Aliyah ‘Bastet’ Latifi, weapons primed.”
“Asim, holding position.”
“E\V/-Wolf, awaiting orders.”
“Captain Jack Harper, locked and loaded.”
“E\V/-H-Blackjack, standing ready.”
“E\V/-Sweet.Revenge, combat ready.”
“E\V/-Reden, on standby.”
“E\V/-VermilionX, awaiting directives.”
“E\V/-Garrus, ready to move.”
“E\V/-Grunt, systems optimal.”
“E\V/-Ghost, locked and ready.”

The fleet was ready.

Sam exhaled, gripping his deck. The void beyond Zeta was stirring. The real battle was coming.

And this time, they would be ready.
