Good afternoon,

My name is Hector Booth, signed employee of Shackleton Operations Group, client signatory corporation to Bristol Constructions and Manufacturing. I’m contacting you because, despite what some might say, a part of me feels that the aspirations of the Alster Union are still woven in to the Unioner cause, that you are still engineers and workers first, pirates against the Rheinlander corporations second. We’ve worked together in past, Bristol and the Unioners, and I see no reason why we can’t work together again. We both share Bering, after all.

Recently, Bristol came into possession of a Judicator class Cruiser of the old Insurgency. We’ve decided that its far better to restore this vessel for our own purposes in Galileo and Bering, especially with the actions of DSE and Samura, especially with the significant amount of tensions between Kusari and Liberty. Such a cruiser would help protect our miners there, help provide a safe harbor for the smaller craft, and help remove enemies of Bristol.

I think Pacifica can help in this restoration - our other options are Oder and Alster, something that I think would never be acceptable to you or the current Rheinland government. As such, I’m reaching out to you to ask if your shipyards are available for such a restoration project. Bristol is willing to provide:
- Payment in credits for material, manpower, and facilities not exceeding 110% of current standard costs.
- Full schematics of the Judicator class for your own purposes.
The Insurgency was born of struggle against Libertonian oppression and aggression. Such struggles often bring out the most novel ideas, if not the most effective ones, with the pressures of making the most of ones material and time giving a true amount of efficiency to the end design. I think the Unioners would do much to benefit from their loss, all things considered.

The vessel is largely undamaged, save for significant hull damage to the fore hangar sections and contamination throughout the ship life support systems as a result of fire suppression systems. She will need a reactor inspection as well; we’ll only be running the vessel on minimum power during the transit from Vespucci to Bering to stay more or less safe. I’d personally prefer to get more out of her.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Booth,

It’s not every day Bristol reaches out to us directly, let alone with an offer like this. I’ll be honest I wasn’t expecting to hear from you specifically, but I appreciate a man who cuts straight to business. So, let’s talk.

You’re right about one thing. No matter what people say about us, we are still engineers at our core. We build, we restore, and we make do with what others call scrap. You've come to the right place if you need a shipyard that knows how to bring a vessel back to life.
Now, your offer—110% cost coverage and full schematics of the Judicator class? That tells me you understand the value of our work, and I respect that. But I need to know exactly what we’re getting out of this, beyond credits and blueprints. Knowledge, leverage, and long-term gains matter just as much as immediate payment. If we’re going to put our shipyards to use, I want to be sure it’s worth our time.

Then there’s the matter of getting your cruiser here. A low-power transit from Vespucci to Bering is a hell of a risk. If that ship doesn’t make it, this conversation means nothing. I assume you’ve got a security plan, but I want details. If this project is going to happen, I need to know we’re not wasting dock space on a ghost ship that never arrives.
The damage you described—hull breaches, life support contamination, reactor concerns it’s nothing we can’t handle. But restoration takes time, manpower, and the right materials. That means securing a steady supply chain and making sure my people aren’t pulled off other critical work for something that turns out to be more trouble than it’s worth.

So, here’s where I stand. If you’re serious about this, we work out the details now. I need to know exactly what you’re offering, what you expect in return, and how you’re getting that ship here in one piece. If the terms make sense, we’ll open our docks. If not, well you know where to find me when something else comes up.
Let me know how you want to move forward.

Herr Straub,

I was worried the comms linkage from Vespucci to Bering had become fuzzy for a second - I know I’d bounced the issue off of more than a few communications satellites and installations, so if that had failed then a better try would be difficult to say the least. It’s good to hear from you, to say the least. I’d been warned by some of my command staff that you might not be so interested in this offer, but between Pacifica or Alster a part of me feels like there are better results with this.

Beyond the immediate gains as far as payment of materials and the ship schematics, I can’t authorize an enormous amount. You understand of course that Bristol needs to keep certain entities on our side to do business properly in Liberty, chief among them the Xenos Alliance, and while they might have some acceptance here or there I think full, outright support to the Unioners would break that. You’re still shooting at them outside our stations in system, after all. What I can, to a degree, offer is that Shackleton shifts cargo, now and again, to dead drops in the Tanner Belt with short range transmitters, shifting frequencies, that sort of thing. It’d be low volume, I admit, but could potentially be more difficult cargos for you to get your hands on as far as attacking convoys in Bering and beyond. High quality tooling and die casts from Baltimore and Alster, perhaps, things that you can’t normally fabricate on your own, or reactor control equipment. We can figure out the actual specifics and amounts once the ship is docked.

I’m not a fan of your raids, to be blunt - those sorts of disruptions bring attention from the Liberty Navy and Rheinland Military Forces, and their increased attentions make it harder to keep Bristol Bay’s doors open especially to ships like yours and the Xenos. We drop off a few shipments now and again so you don’t have to risk your security - and our security - through your raids. Everybody’s happy, especially since the low amount we’d be moving will mean the Xenos don’t have to worry about a sudden enormous influx of goods going to Pacifica, tipping the scales and such. It’d be just enough to benefit both Bristol and the Unioners, as well as keep the other factions off our backs.

As far as getting the vessel to Bering, we’ve planned that out. A movement through the Omegas and Rheinland is planned, certified and escorted by the Rheinwehr itself. I know your feelings about them, but frankly enough for this to work I need either the Liberty Navy or the Rheinwehr to know the vessel exists and to be comfortable with its existence. Otherwise, it becomes a liability to Bristol operations and threatens our dealings in the houses. To ensure the vessel’s engineering plant remains stable, Bristol will be providing its own escort of repair vessels and transports. We’ll make the trek, don’t you worry about that.

To your question on a supply chain, Shackleton Operations Group will be capable of handling that, moving goods by usual to Bristol Bay Station as a stop off point before then shifting it to Pacifica. We’ll be able to bring in all the necessary components, I think.

I hope this answers all your concerns and, all said, look forward to hearing back from you.

A bearded man appeared on the screen, looking somewhat confused.

"Good evening, Herr ... Hector? Can I call you Hector? Anyways,
My name is James Hollywood, I somewhat run the show in what you call the Unioners 'of Pacfica base'. "

He lit a cigar with his lighter, taking a few big puffs of smoke before he continued.

" Forgive me if I'm a bit slow, but what exactly do you want from us? Sure, we can take a look at your ship a lil'. However, you keep throwing around this phrase 'standard costs' for what, as it appears to me, isn't a 'standard' ship to ya. I sure do appreciate the trust, but I just need to know that we can trust ya to pay the bills, if you know what I mean? "

"We'll take those schematics you offer, that's for sure. However, I'll let you know that we're doing just fine aboard Pacfica. We need no fancy supplies from Alster. And if we would, we would rip them from the cargo holds of those damn Imeprial ships ourselves. You will be invited to contribute to the materials we need for your ship, that I guarantee.
When it comes to escorts, I'll somewhat tolerate your boys poking around our base but rest assured I won't let any of those Rheinwehr scum anywhere near. You know... A lot of blood was spilled to keep our home hidden; Unioner blood and the one's that were once called Harmony."

"I hope I didn't appear too aggressive, but I'm certain you understand we have certain rules and standards, and that's probably why we still exist. One more thing, tho, I don't like your Xeno friends either. But I guess we'll deal with it for the time of this... let's call it 'joint operation'. After all, you bring a lot to the table.
I hope we'll be hearin' from ya again. Stay safe out there; a lot of dangerous men around."

The speaker leans towards the camera as the stream ends.

Herr Hollywood,

I will admit, I have been largely basing costs about those proposed as standard by Alster Shipyard, Baltimore Shipyard, things of that degree, and felt that it would be reflected that this ship is not a standard ship, Pacifica not a standard shipyard, and this proposition not a standard one by the additional 10% of payments. Considering Shackleton is prepared to offset shipment costs through Bristol Bay, I thought this would be generally a good proposition and Schiffswerftdirektor Straub seemed to agree. If that does not reflect your opinion, then please by all means set forth a number.

As to my proposition of dead drops to the Unioners, well I felt that it would simply be in all parties’ interests that Pacifica still receive what is deemed necessary for continued operations, other vessels are not impeded in their transit through Bering, and as a result Bristol Bay can operate with further impunity as a Freeport. I know the Unioners already set meetings and transfers in the docking bays there and with a further decrease in Navy patrols I felt more business could be performed by yourself and others. But you’re a direct man and the Unioners a direct organization. If you don’t want that method, then by all means continue in your raids. You do, after all, target competition to one degree or another.

The Rheinwehr escort for our vessel will more than likely not enter Bering. Should they feel the need to do so, then Bristol will simply abide by the directed escort to terminate at Bristol Bay Station. Once the Rheinlanders have left, then we can commence transit to Pacifica. It’s quite that simple. If we wanted to reveal your location to such, we would have done so directly instead of going about all this nonsense. I trust this will demonstrate Bristol’s - and my - commitment to this cooperation. A good amount of blood was spilled in the system and I would do my best to avoid spilling more.

Don’t worry, Herr Hollywood. I try to be one of those dangerous men about the sector. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Herr Hollywood,

For your information, the Judicator class, BCV-Endeavor, has made the transit from Vespucci system to Bristol Bay Station. No incidents occurred en route, nor did the Rheinwehr make any trouble on the way into Bering.

I will, however, be degaussing the exterior hull due to the transit through Omega-55…and to prevent any possible equipment the Rheinwehr may have magnetically clamped on. Unfortunately, they required a halt at Alster, presumably to get high quality pictures of the hull and armaments for future reference, though I wouldn’t put it past the MND to try to keep tabs on every ship that passes through their docks. A cycled coolant purge should also disrupt or destroy anything else I can envision. Every precaution taken, Herr Hollywood, and I mention it purely for that point.

Do you have anything else you wish to discuss before transferring the vessel from Bristol Bay Station to Pacifica?

A bearded man appeared on the screen.

"Herr Hector,
We've given your proposition some thought. Consider your deal accepted.
Tell ya' what. You throw in some extra credits when it comes to costs and we'll even halt our attacks on Xeno vessels for the time of our little joint operation ay'?
Consider it a welcoming present that we are willing to go that far.

It is nice to hear that you're taking the necessary precautions however we will inspect the vessel again once it reaches our mooring. Not so much for the lack of trust but rather for extra caution since most of our men are more familiar with cleaning vessels of spyware than yours; I would assume at least. We also assumed that some of your men would be interested in overseeing the project and if so, we will offer them accommodation for the time of restoration.

Did I leave anythin' out? I don't think so. Remind me if I did.

Oh right. You want to do this as soon as possible. I'll get our boys ready for your arrival first thing in the morning.

Safe skies.
