There was a time it was fun to fly your capital ship, after the capital Armors got removed it gets worse and worse. What happend to the Basic hull on the ships? Yes the info card says armor is part of the ship itself, well I don't feel it.
And were is all the energy gone to fire the weapons? All the time you're looking for some energy to shoot with, then the shields is draining the power if you get targeted, giving you even less energy to shoot with + the shield stay down too long.

I hear from many players they not like the capitals ships as they are now. Can something be done to bring back the fun of flying the capital ship? Cool

Explanation:
They break things without a second thought especially when it comes to capital ships. If you're using them outside their narrow scope of "fun".
Stripped of weaponry, supposedly to "reduce server stress." Right, because heavily armed warships being, you know, armed is a problem. Instead, we get these ridiculous slot configs that make everything worse.

Sure, shields should be energy-intensive, but at least make the numbers make sense. Let's look at this absurdity:

Heavy BS Shield: 54,850u/s drain | Regen: 1312–1462
Standard BS Shield: 43,700u/s drain | Regen: 1171–1248

And then, the real kicker:

Zoner Colony Ship: 101,250/2,437,500 power
Liberty "Atlantis" Carrier: 95,050/2,251,500 power
Rheinland "Bismarck" Battleship: 101,250/2,437,500 power
Gallic "Valor" Battleship: 96,900/2,307,000 power
Remember when the Atlantis was the Liberty capship with the best core regen and capacity? Yeah, that ship now has 95K regen—and a heavy BS shield burns half its core per tick. And for what? A measly sub-1500u/s regen?

Statistically, it's a joke:

Normal BS shields take 35–37.3x their regen in power.
Heavy BS shields? 37.5–41.8x their regen in power.

And yet, they still call these "Capital Ships." My gods.

The balance team must be napping, because not only are shields barely shielding, but they’ve gutted every ounce of capship power.

Now, one guy can slowly chew through you while you struggle with:

Limited turret slots
Awkward firing angles

So, what can you do? Nothing. Just sit back and hope the devs wake up. Because right now, capital ships are nothing more than floating paperweights.
If community itself don’t bury you in hell, then you don’t have a voice.
Or maybe they just don’t care. Almost all of them act like puppets followers, ignoring everything, letting it all slip by without much...interest.
Or maybe they've already been silenced?

Capital ships, especially battleships, are balanced around being the core of their formation. Their role, or at least how it's intended, is to let smaller ships deal with immediate threats, while capital ships deal with larger ones, which in theory isn't a bad idea, but the execution as always is hit or miss. The fact that larger ships only really have flaks to deal with snubs now can be a pain to get used to, since traditional anti-fighter weapons were nerfed into the ground to the point that it's almost useless even mounting them anymore.

The gimmick with shields is to disable your regen (there's a setting you can make to hotkey it) so your power core can recharge normally, but this obviously doesn't work when you're being focused, and is practically a death sentence if you're in a battleship given their lack of flavor components to soak up damage. This is set to be remedied with the battleship rework, but who knows when that'll come out.

I personally stand by my belief that cap balance was at its peak right before the first cruiser rework, when it was clear which ships countered which, but it was still possible for caps to come out on top with enough skill input, even against snub ganks. Now it's just whichever side has the better snub pilots, with caps being mostly a sideshow.
Granted, I'm biased since I am a cap player at heart, but I absolutely get the pessimism that can come from learning just how gimped caps are right now.

Earlier, cruiser prims were quite broken, which meant you could shred snubs that were close to you.

But after the nerfs in shield damage, they dropped off in viability by a lot. Cruisers are increasingly being countered by agile gunboats and snubs.

Sorry, friend. Wrong timeline.

As a Battleship main, I do feel you. Especially the part where I'm not really allowed to use my weapons due to tyrannical energy sustainability. Not even going to mention the variety of armaments available, even if the variety presents "different" options, they are, in reality, all the same. Some are even straight up redundant.

I don't know, I've had several good fights in the Klaxon (a libdred at only 85% core) that were a lot of fun. I've even beaten battlecruisers in the old beast a couple times, and that while on hazardous unfavorable terrain (eg Earhart). I'm also super entry-level in battleships, I think. I didn't fly caps a whole lot before the 5.0 changes, so I suppose I can't really say how it compares to before, but I don't think things are all that bad. Granted, as a battleship you need to have snubs with you to counter enemy smallboats (snubs + GBs), because otherwise your only option for dealing with them is spamming a shitload of flaks (which seems to go against the whole "get rid of rock/paper/scissors gameplay" philosophy the balance team has otherwise espoused), but if you have one or two snubs with you and you aren't facing an overwhelming enemy force, I think it's more than possible to have a good time.

Sadly, we don't have sufficent players in the server with a median of 30-40 players ... not even enough, in old times when people were happy we had median of 100+ ...

But back in those times caps were purposely balanced to be weak to snubs, to the point BS Solaris had a range shorter than the length of the larger battleships.
