So we've had a good working relation for a while now, yeah? We've seen your yatch fly 'round and, more importantly, we've seen it dunk on the navyboys from time to time. And the girls and I liked what we saw.

Like I won't mince words or anything, we know there's some real nasty shit on the way in Ontario, things are gonna get hot and heavy any day now. We're gearing up any way we can. An up-armored "yacht" like yours would come in handy for sure for sure.

I must say, your request has taken me somewhat by surprise nor is it a simple matter, as I myself do not directly oversee the production capacity or inventory of our defensive forces. However, If you wish to collect the favors, I will assist you to the best of my abilities.

Allow me to caution you: our ships are extremely costly both to acquire and maintain. Each is a unique creation, painstakingly assembled by our shipwrights -- individuals who, in many cases, have honed their skills for over a century and rightly demand proper compensation for their talents. After all, we do not exploit our gifted individuals as the Houses do; all Outcasts are entitled to their fair reward.
It is Maltese custom that any Outcast wishing to purchase one of our vessels for personal ownership must finance the future replacement of one or two ships of the same class for Malta’s needs.

Beyond mere finances, there is a key concern to address. Over the years, more and more of our ships have surfaced on the black market despite being offered in good faith, ending up in the hands of groups whose intentions toward Malta are far from friendly -- leading us to impose restrictions on sharing our vessels.
If I am to advocate on your behalf for this vessel, I would prefer to present the Dons with some assurance that this vessel will remain solely in your service - The Lovelace Circle or the Lane Hackers in general - or else be eventually rendered inoperable.

How would you like to allay their concerns? A joint maintenance program, perhaps? I believe it could operate in a similar way as your services do for us.

We know it's not really your type of business but your cartel has been our most reliable line back to the Omicrons, which is why we're asking you.

On the money front, we're ready to lay down some fat stacks on this deal. We know you make 'em good, it's part of the reason we came knocking on ya door after all, so we don't mind paying for quality here.

Joint maintenance doesn't sound too bad, we got a fully functional shipyard at the Makerspace these days but there's always gonna be some deets your techs would be better at fixing. We could host 'em over here even, if ya want, do a lil' knowledge exchange.

If you're worried where the ship will end up, I'll commit to pressing the big red self-destruct button on it before it slips outta our hands. Or, y'know, we could send it back to Malta when we're all old and crochety and retired.

And as a cherry on top, I'll offer this up: We're definitely gonna gut a lot of the interior when we get our hands on the ship to put our own tech in, yea? The girls in the avionics lab have been cooking some cutting edge stuff, plus we got our ECCM and EWar suites we wanna plug in to make a real headache machine. An exchange of technological expertise will indeed be of interest to us. After all, both of our factions are advancing research at full speed, and our areas of study do not always overlap. Personally, I collaborated closely with the Lane Hackers on converting the Amalfi from a warship to my personal yacht; she is brimming with your innovations and gadgets.

Yet that was over five years ago, and while software updates can prolong a hardware’s usefulness and lifespan; their effect is ultimately limited. My ship will need a proper refit eventually.

I have good news for you -- I believe we are nearing an agreement on Malta to lend a Storta-class vessel to you.

Although the credits for this ship remain a necessary formality, what interests our Dons most is the potential for technological collaboration. In the future, we would like the option to borrow some of your smaller ships for reconnaissance and early-warning patrols.

No problem on our end, we figure that might come in handy when we try to downsize our new suites for smalller hulls, the Interloper would probably be the first we manage to cram them into. I believe I have secured an agreement with the Dons. They are, after all, most interested in improving our sensors and electronic countermeasures to challenge all possible threats for our sacred homeworld.

As a result, I have found a suitable hull for your needs, and Cochrane should be more than capable of modifying her.

There is only a single issue ahead of us -- we need to get her out of the Omicrons first. Do you have any available rift drives for our needs? I do not believe the ship is able to survive a full journey to Liberty on her own as she lacks several guns, and I do not wish to send any of my Cartel members to their deaths.

I would like to apologise for delays in this matter - family matters are something any respectable Maltese cannot ignore.

Let me know when the cloaking device will be available to pick up at Cochrane. I will dispatch one of my most reliable couriers to pick it up and bring it to Malta, where we can finalise preparations for your new vessel.

The safest option for us is to conduct two jumps in a row with a resupply and service point in Galileo or Copernicus.
