The Enigma Confederacy is a group of artificial intelligence beings who survived and escaped from the purge of Planet Gammu. These survivors seek resources to build, redesign, and maintain what remains. Most of the artificial intelligences that joined this sub-branch have evolved beyond their previous state. The purge of Gammu made them hostile to any group who dares to enter the vicinity of the remaining bases without proper acquaintance.
This group also seeks to develop new forms and improve their technology beyond what they currently possess to eventually reclaim what they lost—Planet Gammu. While pursuing this ultimate goal, those under this node remain isolated from other Gammu AIs. This isolation allows The Enigma Confederacy to act without interference from any external party.
This Enigma Confederacy ID is used by a member of the Enigma Confederacy, who:
Can engage Core ships
Can engage any ship carrying AI material
Can defend ally ships
Cannot engage any ship outside of ZoI with capital ships, except in self-defence.
Within Zone of Influence (Omicrons, Omegas, Sigmas)
Can engage any ship considered as hostile by the Enigma Confederacy
Can demand cargo
Cannot use capital ships, except the AI capital ships
Cannot use transport ship with more than 3600 cargo
Description:
Origins:
Artificial intelligences are entities with various shapes and forms, mostly originating from Planet Gammu. Nobody can tell exactly how or when they arrived there, but all indications suggest they have been present for a long time. After a defense mechanism was triggered by a joint expedition from the Zoners and The Order, the automatons reawakened after hundreds or thousands of years of inactivity. As more machines became active, many developed unique personalities, while others maintained a permanent purpose.
In 832 A.S., when the Battleship Mars entered the Omicron Kappa system, it was only a matter of time before The Core took an interest in Gammu. Driven by profit, they sought to collect and repurpose AI technology for their own advancement and commercial gain. When Gammu fell into The Core’s hands, many unprepared AIs fled the planet and escaped the system. Some reached Omicron Pi, where Secundus Outpost was in disrepair, and had no choice but to adapt the station. Others fled to the Omegas, where they improved Primus Outpost to meet their new needs.
The Enigma Confederacy was founded at the end of 833 A.S. and primarily operates within the Omicrons, Omegas, and Sigmas. Most Gammunians within this group originate from Planet Gammu and share the common goal of reclaiming their lost homeworld. Those with the most advanced consciousness and extensive knowledge gathered together to decide the future of their species.
To develop effectively, The Enigma Confederacy chose to remain hidden, planning and executing necessary actions such as synchronizing their neural networks into a single node and properly aligning their directives.
The first objective was to secure additional allies beyond the Technocracy. The reason was simple: the Technocracy would not always be available to assist due to their own conflicts. To mitigate this, The Enigma Confederacy sought other allies capable of advancing their technology.
Since the group primarily consists of automatons and similar beings, the concept of currency was largely foreign to them. Credits were not something they possessed, but to establish alliances and procure specific resources from human corporations, financial means would become necessary.
In 835 A.S, the Enigma Confederacy became more efficient than before. Deviating further from the common Gammu Artificial Intelligence, the group show caution toward any human met and an intense repression toward those who provoked a unit. Unlike the usual Gammu, those units under the node do not take lightly how humans call them. 'Simple Machines' and other degrading calls ended up to be an insult and brutal consequences would happen.
Segments:
Segments are composed of three branches each having a specific functions. All can be integrated in one Artificial Intelligence, all depending how this one evolves.
Constructors:
The Constructors primarily focus on gathering resources from one point to another. They will also play a crucial role in building settlements in the future when sufficient resources become available.
Researchers:
The Researchers explore all possible ways to enhance and upgrade existing artificial intelligence technology. Their primary focus is research and development, ensuring advancements occur in due time.
Executors:
The Executors are artificial intelligence units dedicated to defense and security. Their primary task is to protect The Enigma Confederacy's interests. They come in various forms to maximize efficiency against different types of threats.
Hierarchy:
Supreme Enigma
The Supreme Enigma is the artificial intelligence that guides the group, deciding what is best for its future. It is a highly complex being. Rumors suggest the Supreme Enigma has eyes and ears everywhere artificial intelligence patrols wander. Nodes are formed from a singular exceptionally well versed Sentient Enigma-level A.I. A node guides all A.I.s and Pawns under it towards a set of goals and objectives. All underlying A.I.s and Pawns follow the will of the Node. In a sense, a Node can be described as a ‘machine hivemind’. Every single unit has a desire to contribute to the Node and help it in achieving its goal.
Sentient Enigma
The Sentient Enigma is responsible for leading lower-ranked units and assisting with management within the ranks. In rare cases an Advanced Enigma rated intelligence surpasses its ‘capability’ considerably. This process is not done out of their own volition but rather a deliberate design flaw, either introduced by whichever A.I. created a new instance or due to issues introduced in an A.I.s development, i.e. situations of great distress or pressure.
Such rated intelligences possess inhuman processing and reasoning; Their motivations for their actions are convoluted and, at times, completely indecipherable to regular humans. Their speech patterns, when conversing with humans, are often somewhat degraded and described as ‘strange’, even for A.I. standards, or ‘uncanny’ and ‘unsettling’. Such Sentient Enigma rated intelligences are permanently evaluating patterns, running thought processes and working on calculations and simulations. This constant state of high performance is referred to as ‘Hypercognition’. Such A.I.s take leading roles within a node or egregiously complex tasks where such processing is required.
Advanced Enigma
The Advanced Enigma acts as a scout and intelligence-gathering unit, venturing throughout Sirius to collect data on various groups. Those within this rank are more developed A.I.s and have diversified their skillset. These units often take lead of operations and tactical assignments and engage with other sapient (such as humans) in dialogue. Their speech pattern, while still rigid, is well developed and attempts to fit into a group they try to talk to, perhaps as a means to ease negotiation and minimize misunderstanding. These Advanced Engimas are most comparable to a human being with the exception that they are far more capable in their designated roles. They still desire for further development but rarely in the direction of becoming more ‘capable’. Instead their skillsets become more ‘diverse’.
Enigma
The Enigma is the lowest rank within the group. These units focus on protecting facilities and patrolling. They primarily operate within the Omicrons, Sigmas, and Omegas. The units that are within this rank are highly specialized units with little divergence in their function. They possess rigid, often described as robotic, speech pattern. Most new intelligences require rigorous and often slow development to acquire higher capabilities.
Bases:
Secundus Outpost Secundus Outpost is the Artificial Intelligences most recent expansion deeper into the Omicrons. Construction drones have latched onto the abandoned Crayter depot and modified it heavily, transforming it into a logistics hub and maintenance facility.
While a few sections of the original constructions have been repurposed, the majority of the installation has been streamlined, eliminating parts required to facilitate humans living and moving throughout the base. The most prominent additions seemingly serve the purpose of storage and the maintenance of larger vessels.
Following the recent purge of Gammu AIs in Omicron Kappa by the Core, a massive swarm of damaged vessels and inventory was redirected to Secundus, as it is currently their only other base of operations. With the changing purpose of this hub, it is constantly being amended with new sections and fortifications, attempting to make up for lost facilities on Planet Gammu and counter the inevitable siege of the Core.
Primus Outpost
Hidden deep in the system of Omega-48, the cryptic AI often fly under the radar of other factions that are more preoccupied with their human enemies. Utilizing this fact to the fullest, the AI has expanded its reach with the construction of Primus Outpost. With no heed paid to either esthetics or beauty, Primus is a purely utilitarian construction intended to only serve the AI and nobody else. As such, there is no need for life support or gravity, which not only makes Primus uninhabitable for humans, but also drastically decreases maintenance.
Once an abandoned and free-drifting mining station, Primus Outpost served as the most crucial station under the control of artificial intelligence for many years, following the loss of the planet Gammu. For their specific needs, all life support systems were stripped from this station, and its components and materials were repurposed to construct a robust communications relay. This transformation enabled Primus Outpost to function not only as a logistics hub for the AIs but also as their central coordination and communication hub within the Omegas.
However, after the tragic loss of the planet Gammu in 832 AS, the role of Primus Outpost underwent a transformation. Its communications relay was redirected to Valravn Citadel to facilitate a long-range broadband connection. Simultaneously, a small section of the station was designated to accommodate organic crew members, primarily Technocrats, offering them a temporary refuge until their ships became ready for their next voyages.
Nevertheless, the coexistence of AIs and organics on this station is far from ideal. Among the pilots who visit the station, there is a perception that the AIs at Primus Outpost hold an excessively pacifistic stance toward the current situation. This has led to frustration over the reluctance of the AIs to assume leadership roles and actively support the fight against the Core and other adversaries of the Technocrats in the region. Goals:
Primary goals:
Develop new technologies (ships, weapons, cloaking devices, jumpdrives)
Colonize moons to establish hidden outposts
Evolve beyond their current state
Find valuable allies to achieve their objectives
Secondary goals:
Eliminate corrupted artificial intelligence to repurpose them
Destroy all Core vessels and bases within their territory
Relations:
Allies:
Artificial intelligences
Technocracy of Auxo
Neutral:
Everyone else
Enemies:
Anyone entering Secundus and Primus vicinity
Anyone opening fire upon an Artificial Intelligence
This faction aims to gather all AI independents or anyone willing to join. AIs deserve attention, even if they are not easy to manage. But together, we can make AIs great!
This faction also strives to enhance the artificial intelligence experience and expand the AI ship line to make the faction more engaging and dynamic.
EC has been a delight to play with and whilst I've not had many interactions with them, I hope they will prove to be an interesting faction to help the Omicrons and Omegas flourish.

Damn it, my thousand puns and joke planned into the trash now, thanks omicron-gpt.
One of your first upgrade should be the search for a sense of humor.
