While I was looking through The Kusari Legal Codex I was looking at the list of names of the people who had fines/bounties on them and I wondered...
Is it ok change your name so people won't know to fine you?
Well there will be a fine on 'your' head but if people are looking for some guy named 'ExampleBevel'(is a fake name) but since you changed your name to 'Transport_Example43728'(is a fake name too) you can't be held accountable for the fine placed on 'ExampleBevel'?
BUTeven if someone did that, would it be ok?, frowned upon?, or is the action sanctionable?
For the record, people do this in real life to a VERY VERY limited extent as in like no one, however I think it will get you even more introuble...I think?
I personally think it should be grounds for a sanction and it shouldnt be done at all but people may have already done it!
(forgive me if this is hard to understand I just came up with this on the fly)

They are worth $1,000,000 USD if you find someone willing to do such a trade.
Why So SIRIUS?...(Give credit to my brother for this one XD)
Lo and behold! Our dear Tenacity will return in 20days!
it shouldnt be done at all. Actually if you are a pirate and you get a bounty on your head, accept it. Try to blow up the bounty hunter when he find you but changing name is coward and break the game since you kindoff Disapear. I am 100% for a sanction in cases of that kind.
Hmmm, why canadians are the only to have a sig image.
It's not sanctionable, but the Admins can track NCs, so it's kind of a moot point. Doing it in-RP to avoid cops is perfectly fine (even encouraged), but it doesn't work if an admin's on your tail.

I change my smuggler's name every once in a while to keep his trail cold. Kinda like in Lord of War when he repaints the name on the back of ther frieghter to escape interpol. No need having them know for a fact I am running contraband through the blockade by looking at the player list like most lawfuls do.
Who would actually try to loose a bounty?!? It is like a trophy letting you know you are doing it right! I see how long I can keep em.
I don't find it to be a questionable practice myself. You drop two million credits to have your vessel's paperwork redone, a new coat of paint and a little this and that.
If you try to do it to avoid a sanction however, well, the admins just laugh at you.
I have, however, had a few players try to do it at once. I.E. they quick dock with cardi, change their name and then undock.
Isn't being on the run, so to speak, part of the fun of being an unlawful? Or am just being silly. It would kinda suck the fun out of it, but on the other hand, ditching you ship on a planet, quietly buying a new one, with a different name would help take the heat of you for a while! Sort of like this
"Pirate is chased by Police, Pirate gets away. Then RPs a bit. Land on a netural base/planet despreate to lose the Police, is complety ripped of by the local ship dealer, a quick trade for a new ship, different class of course then takes said ship home. Where he lays low until he has enough creds to replace his lost ship, arms so on a so fourth and continue his trade."
But this would never happen from the little I have seen thus far. I would have to agree with name change's being very wrong.
