Hey I just uninstalled both the base game and the mod and redownloaded, reinstalled, etc, but still have some sounds missing. My game(before and after reinstall) has no music, no menu sounds, no ship engine sounds, no NPC/base voices, and some more sounds missing. I had the base game installed in C/Games when the problem first came up, so when I reinstalled I switched to the default location which is Program Files(x86)/Microsoft, and the mod is in the default location in AppData/Local

Is this intentional or did I mess something specific up?

Sorry to ask the silly question, have you looked in the audio tab at the start up screen and made sure the levels are high enough?

Try disabling 3 D sound.

Fair question, but yes. Also, should have mentioned I can't disable 3D sound. It is enabled, but greyed out so I can't interact with it. Using HDMI audio, but this has never been an issue until now. And to answer the next obvious question, my graphics drivers are up to date Big Grin

Don't worry I have many silly questions.

Have you gone through the computers settings toggling things to see if any problems there? Maybe a mono/stereo?
HDMI is set as default etc.

Yep ran through that just before I posted. Also tried different devices but the same thing happened. Also should note that some sounds do work (guns, explosions, jump drive voice and jump hole sound effects) so it's not the entire game being muted.

I'm assuming the music and voices and stuff is actually still present in other people's games then?

Yes, all the files in both the game and the mod directories are there, the game just doesn't play them. I am at a loss

Edit: I have menu music now, but everything else(menu UI sounds, npc voices, in-flight music, engines, base ambiance, can't think of others) is muted. It doesn't seem like an audio device issue because the weapons are loud and clear on the right device, and all other devices are disabled. I checked by selecting a different device and the same thing happened anyway. I didn't count how many times I reinstalled, but I even redownloaded the ISO and discovery installer, installed in different directories cross C and D drive, ran with and without admin permissions, still no luck.

I really hope there's some dumb explanation and that I can hear the damn music and npc voices again, they are an integral part of my memories of this game :'D

Also I managed to disable this setting(I'm an idiot, have to do it in main menu) and it made no difference

Did you check and double check if FLSpew.txt is logging some relevant warnings about audio?
