Liberty and Kusari Clash in Galileo

GALILEO - Shots rang out late yesterday evening as a situation involving the Liberty Navy and the Kusari Naval Forces boiled over in Galileo, leading to numerous casualties on both sides. The encounter, fueled by potential third party actors in Galileo and unknown accusations originating from both sides, resulted in many disabled vessels, with the bulk of losses suffered by Kusari forces. These confrontations follow weeks of back and forth legal finger pointing between the two great houses over corporate mining rights to found platinum deposits within the system's dark matter fields. Despite the call for cooler heads to prevail, blood has been spilled already in what many in Lipari are calling the 'prelude to war'. Lipari Solar reporters on the scene verified the first shots fired by Navy forces at approximately 19:25 SST, with return fire from Kusari Naval vessels following shortly thereafter. So close to the Liberty border, Kusari forces were quickly routed, and while some managed to fall back to better held territory, much of the initial force was disabled. Despite this victory, Liberty forces were not left without scars of their own, and numerous vessels soon returned to Colorado for servicing. It is currently unknown what the total casualty count is among both sides, but it is clear that the foundations of peace within the northern Independent Worlds is quickly crumbling. When we reached out for questions, Kusari officials on the scene refused to comment, while Liberty officials remained notably tight-lipped.
