Background:

When the human race arrived in the Sirius Sector they brought with them laws that allowed for Private Military Companies (PMCs). The Bounty Hunters Guild is the obvious example of a PMC, and it is the largest in the galaxy.
Artemis Galactic Security found it’s origins on Planet Gran Canaria in Omega 49. Back then Artemis was designed to protect one of the continents on the planets surface. Artemis Continental was founded in 789A.S. by Richard DeWinter. Richard never thought the company would get very far; he just wanted something that would feed his wife and son, Adrian. The company stayed as a Continental protection service until Richard’s death, and when Adrian took over. Richard DeWinter was originally a transport pilot, but due to AI starting to take the places of pilots he was removed from service. He had no idea how to run a business; and that’s where he and his son differed. Adrian DeWinter was born in 779A.S. and went on from his compulsory education to a business school. There he learned how he would one day make Artemis a success.
Richard died in 800A.S. due to an undiscovered tumor on his heart. Adrian had just left his business school when it happened, and he was quick to take over the company. Unlike his father, who only wanted a living, Adrian wanted more. He strived out towards clients and organized contracts that made the company more powerful each day. By 805A.S. he officially changed the name of the company to Artemis Global Security. He didn’t stop there, he wanted Artemis to touch the stars and be known throughout the galaxy. He continued through his work and secured contracts with every continent on the planet, until eventually near the end of 816A.S. he officially made a conference on the planet and, in a spectacular ceremony, unveiled the banner of Artemis Galactic Security.

Artemis Galactic Security is a Private Military Company. They do a variety of work, but the main bsuiness-maker is assisting clients in wars. It is all about the money. They would enter a war and attack the other side with brutal force. If they decided to make a better offer then Artemis would switch sides, all that matters is the profit gained.
Artemis became Galactic through hiring the best of people, in and out of combat. Expertise from Artemis teams ensure that the goals of AGS are achieved, one way or another.

Faction Name: Artemis Galactic Security
Faction Tag: Artemis], Artemis[, Artemis|
IFF/ID: Freelancer IFF, Mercenary ID

Goals:

• Gain contracts with several factions, including escorting, bounty hunting, but mainly in the assistance of wars for the paying side.
• Build up money and power to make sure that Artemis is the leading PMC in Sirius.

Methods:

• Hire the best and brightest in and out of his or her ships and make sure they have the best equipment.
• Bribe or threaten known smugglers to discover routes if hired by House Polices to stop smugglers.
• If hired in the assistance of a war, there are several methods:
o Travel behind enemy lines through secret routes and give their weaknesses to the paying side.
o Assist in assaults made by the paying side against the enemy.
o If the enemy offers a better price we change sides and use our methods against the previous paying side, now the enemy.
• Assist traders through known enemy hideouts with escorting.
• Hunt pirate forces currently not under contract for bounty money.

Diplomatic Status:

We currently have no allies; our only allies are clients we have been hired by to work for. We attempt to avoid engaging the rookies (NPCs) as this could effect us with future contracts. (however we will shoot them to make them engage us, making it more realistic)

Allies:
Clients with contracts to AGS.

Friendly:
None.

Neutral:
Those with no contract with us but no contracts against.

Unfriendly:
None.

Hostile:
Those under contract to hunt.
Ships with Bounties on their heads.

Ranking:

There is little ranking in Artemis Galactic Security, as there is little need.
There are three ranks that can be reached:

Ensign:
This rank is for those who have just joined Artemis, it is easy to move out of and enter the next rank. People in this rank may fly fighters or bombers.

Lieutenant:
This rank forms the backbone of Artemis, to move upward from this rank requires time and skill. Lieutenants can give orders to Ensigns; however these orders can be over-ruled by a Captain or the CEO. People in this rank may fly fighters, bombers, SVHFs and repair ships.

Captain:
This rank is for those who have proven themselves excellent in command of other members of Artemis. Captains can give orders to Lieutenants and Ensigns; their orders can only be over-ruled by the CEO. People in this rank may fly fighters, bombers, SVHFs, repair ships, gunships or gunboats (access to gunships or gunboats must come with a role-play story written before the ship is bought).

This next rank can not be reached by normal members, unless the current CEO leaves the position and opens it to other people to take.

CEO:
This rank is for those who have proven that they can command Artemis and not fall under the pressure. The CEO can give orders to all ranks; his or her decision can not be over-ruled by anyone. The CEO may fly fighters, bombers, SVHFs, repair ships, gunships or gunboats (access to gunships or gunboats must come with a role-play story written before the ship is bought).

Zones of Influence:

Artemis Galactic Security operates wherever contracts are created, from the Omicrons to Gallia, we will be where our contracts are made with clients.

Ships Available:

Our ship line is very limited. I (CEO) say that we should only allow ships from the Civilian line. If we wish to make a contract with the Corsairs, if they see us flying the Bounty Hunters ships then we wouldn’t get far. And if we want a contract with Liberty, they wouldn’t like us flying pirate ships. AGS is limited to Civilian and Zoner ships in the line of fighters to bombers. The only Gunboat allowed at this time is the Zoner Gunboat. The Repair Ship is also available to Lieutenant and over. SVHFs (e.g. Spatials) are allowed at Lieutenant and over.

Recruitment:

Although Artemis’s main operation for recruitment is through invitations, we can never find all of the pilots that would like to join. People who are invited have been invited because they have proven they can role-play at an above-average level. To be accepted to join AGS through asking, there are strict standards that must be achieved:
• Must be fluent in the English language.
• Must have an account on the Discovery forums.
• Must have been playing on Discovery for at least 2 months (time will be taken from the creation of the Discovery account).
• Must be able to role-play at an above-average standard.
• Must have a very good application with good role-play included.
• Must respect the chain of command.

This message bears the seal of Adrian DeWinter, CEO of Artemis Galactic Security.

There are a ferw things which make me want to move this directly and permanently to flood. ADMIN ships aren't a part of the general RP, anything that targets us directly inteferes with our work. Ergo we don't want or need it. Second requesting a Dessie here and NOT using the parameters set down in the correct forum is a big no-no.

So this needs a serious re-think and re-write. I suggest you get to it.

I would not even begin to think about asking for a dessie yet, I know how much that can effect the game with a player who has a Merc ID and flying a Destroyer. All mentions of ADMIN ships removed.

Your logo shows, Artemis Global Security:

didn't think this was intended.
Otherwise it seems good, and unique.

I got a P.S. at the bottom saying my pictures say Global, I wish I could change it to Galactic but it would make it look messy. Good observation by the way.

I am hoping this can be a unique faction, bringing the best role-players of the server together and having some fun (similar to the Keepers).

To be honest, I don't see how this is unique. Just another attempt at creating some sort of Galactic millitary or simple merc faction. The first would fail (all other previous attempts have too) considering the fact that just about every house is bashing eachothers brains in. And as for the merc faction, well, not realy that unique.

I am in agreement with you, I currently see no way that Artemis is unique from, say, the Bounty Hunters Guild or just another Mercenary faction trying to get in on the big guns. But the way I see this is that if this was real, would there really be one big all-mighty PMC that controlled the Sirius Sector? There would be loads of little ones fighting for the most control and therefore the most business. I see this as a way of making the game a slight bit realer by creating competition for the BH Guild.

No problem mate, and thanks for the response.

An explanation of this would be good. Mercenary traditionally means "Works for Pay" this is much more vigilante and even then All Sirius Pirate Hunting factions are very very much frowned upon, normally from a great height and very messily.

So you're saying that if/when you go official, there's gonna be tons of little merc companies around? There already are. Sorry but your point is pretty vague and just passes me by. And 'one over all' wouldn't work. Have you seen in what state the houses are currently? You'd have to align yourself to one instead of all four and hence become localised.
