I convene this conference call to discuss a matter of importance and.. urgency. Yesterday I was contacted by Revenant to help out with a shipment of Xeno Relics as I handle logistics nowadays. You are all acquainted to some degree to her work regarding the Alien Jumpgates and what her plans are to thoroughly study them. That might involve a reactivation with said usage of residual energy signatures from the Relics we can gather.
I will leave an attachment so you can look through the recorded exchange. I will say that I am not a fan of this idea despite the obvious scientific benefit and deep understanding of how the network of jumpgates can work and how Earhart is connected in all this and what does it mean. My opinion and I already have the word of Navarch Leviathan on the same level, is that the risk can be too great. We might as well unleash something that could be more than we can bare. After all.. having a point open at a random place in space raises millions of unknowns.
But, to also make Revenant's argument, she claimed in a private channel discussion that this is inevitable regardless. The space-time fracture will happen regardless of us interfering or not with the Alien gate.
I am sceptical about us not being able to 'sabotage' nor slow the process or take serious precautions.
These are my personal thoughts. I would like to hear your ideas and votes on how we should proceed. Currently I cast my vote that we should not support this endeavour and actually find a way of containment for the Alien gate site.
As you are aware, we have been monitoring the site's latent activity for some time, particularly following the documented shifts in remnant composition. I have also received similar observations from her Scion regarding the so-called “inevitability” of the ongoing reconstructive effort. While the involvement of a third party has not been confirmed, we have nonetheless observed significant, seemingly “natural” changes within the wreckage itself.
Revenant's abrupt departure from strict adherence to the Do Not Interact: Observation directive, toward actively promoting the renewal of the Gate, is deeply troubling. Such a shift, without consultation or justification, demonstrates a concerning disregard for the discipline and vigilance we have long maintained. It may be necessary to reassess the parameters of her autonomy from Harbinger's influence.
A summons will be issued. I expect our “esteemed founder” to provide a full explanation for these actions and to surrender all current research immediately. This matter has grown more urgent in light of recent fluctuations reported by the Sudbury watchdogs.
Navarch Leviathan, I trust you will see to it that our compatriot arrives as required; intact, and without further complication.
I can confirm today that, while monitoring the Citadel hardpoint zone, my vessel Titania, intercepted an inbound shipment intended for Revenant. This cargo appears to be in connection with the aforementioned Alien Jump gate research based on the cargo type and of my brief conversation with the vessel captain of whom confirmed who intended recipient was.
As instructed, the cargo shipment and its contents have been withheld until further instructions have been received or pending the ongoing summons is satisfied.
With regards to the research itself and whether we should carry it out or not, is not for me to decide. However my overlying concern remains with the element of risk, as has been mentioned by Venator Serapis.
Therein lies the factor of whether we are able to contain any threats that emerge from such an experiment. Due to the overall scope of the area and our current operational capacity, my opinion of the situation is that we should not proceed with such an undertaking.
Despite my desire to advance the cause in the spirit of advancement of science and preservation of knowledge, I also wish to highlight the third important aspect our culture which is preservation of sentient life. This particular endeavour may only serve one of those key aims based on the information I have available to me, therefore I cannot vote in its favour. It may bring significant harm to the very life we seek to protect, or our cause as a whole.
I will attach the relevant documentation below in relation to the aforementioned shipment.
