Hi everyone. With us handing out a bunch of ship "cosmetics" over the past few months, and now ramping that up with the anniversary, it's time to make a comprehensive post about what's out there.
I will be adding to this thread when time allows, with the ultimate goal of turning it into a one-stop-shop for any of your custom ship cosmetic needs.
If you would like to contribute to this endeavor, play around with DSAM or other character editing tools, and send me labeled screenshots of your results.
pink (large) - All large effects look like this, they are essentially meant for bigger ships like heavy caps.

Cloak and "jump-in" effects are also available, but due to the way they function it's hard to get a good screenshot, so I'll save these for later. If you are interested in these, please try to recall which ship type or class uses the effect. The effect is applied on jumps and undocks if it's attached to the ship. Cloaks use their own effects, which are applied when cloaking and decloaking, as well as on jump and undock. We cannot change a cloak's effect without a patch, but we do have the Osiris cloak effect available.
Engines are a tricky piece of cosmetic. Their main restriction is that they must exactly match the stats of the replacement engine, or there's a chance the game will break (e.g. you will impulse at 20ms, or cruise at 999ms, etc.). This means that only engines from the same class are mountable on that class, and sometimes not even then, as in the case of light and heavy BSes. Additionally, engines change according to the ship they are on, and some will look bad on certain ships - but at least the color will be the same, so I won't bother testing all combinations.

i've mentioned it a couple of times on discord now
the very tldr is
disable your ipv6
ensure in your exe/flhook_plugins/ that dsacesrv.cfg has all; the file checksums disabled (look at lines 93 and lower)
I now have a streamlined way of putting this together, so the updates should be able to occur way faster. Take a look at the misc effects I compiled so far, and stay tuned for more soon!
As for assisting, I meant it more for people who are already somewhat experienced with flserver and dsam. I don't mind showing people the ropes, but right now I want to focus on putting this together.
Bomber and liner engines have been added. While they're currently almost the same, bomber engines will only be allowed on bombers, and liner engines on liners.

This is currently a comprehensive guide to what you can feasibly request. Normally through rp, but also as event rewards and special perks. We will also consider adding a bunch of them as scidata rewards.
