Players Banned: Mort, SSV

Mort, SSV have been sanctioned for:

1.0 - Don't be a dick. It's a game, try to keep it fun for everyone playing it. Behavior that falls within the technical letter of the rules but not the spirit won't be tolerated.

Consequences:

We have verified evidence of you being extremely vulgar and insulting toward members of the community. Not only that, but you've been brazen enough to display it publicly as your forum signatures for all to see. This is completely unacceptable behaviour. Bullying will not be tolerated.

After extensive discussion over multiple weeks and due to more than one report regarding this kind of behaviour, we've made the decision to place a 3-month ban on both of you.

Let us be very clear here - This is not about politics, world-views or a wish to get involved in personal matters between players. This is about preventing the disturbance of peace in the wider Discovery community and enacting the removal of people that we deem, with sufficient evidence, to be problematic.

We acknowledge, recognise and appreciate the positive actions that Mort especially has been involved in, namely in community-run skirmishes and other events, however it does not excuse the complete disregard for others that's been on display here, if not publicly on the forum then in affiliated spaces instead.

Speaking of which - we also express concern toward certain OF Discord servers where moderation is clearly severely lacking. While our Discord policy is currently not changing and we do not wish to surveil more scrupulously, we'd very much like to see better policing on a basic level.

The "staff" based in the United Kingdom are having trouble due to the Imgur ban so other material may be forthcoming from "staff" elsewhere on the planet.
