Situation -

a. Background

With Dublin overrun with Mollys and Corsairs, both fighting over, and mining gold, smugglers have become rampant in the surrounding area. They use a jumphole to Omega 5 as their escape into unlawful systems. Taking Bretonian Gold with them.

b. Friendly Forces

• Battleship Norfolk, stationed grid F5, will provide fighter cover.
  
  
• BIS Auxiliary Transports will be stationed at Cambridge Research station, grid D6, providing logistical support.
  
  
• Additional Craft TBD
  

c. Opposing Forces

Unknown at this time. Smugglers may comply, if not they are to be treated as hostile. Molly and Corsair groups are bound to respond.

d. Environment

• Scanner range limited due to Grasmere Ice Cloud.
  
  
• Grasmere Ice Cloud is made up of tight knit ice asteroids.
  

e. Operational Considerations

• Omega 5 jumphole can be bypassed by jumping to Omega 3, then Omega 5.
  
  
• Local stations can be used as docking points.

Mission -

On (TBD), Light Carrier Morrigan will deploy to the Grasmere Ice Cloud, grid F6, to intercept Wildcat Gold smugglers, seize illegal cargo (half of cargo), and detain anyone who resists, in order to protect Bretonian interests and economy.

Execution -

a. Concept of Operations

The operation will occur in three phases:

1. Recce & Staging – Recce vessels will provide intel of expected vessel movements prior to the operation commencing. All participating vessels will be moved forward and stage out of Portsmouth Shipyard.
   
   
2. Operation Commences – LC Morrigan will move into the ice cloud with her escorts. All transport vessels around the Omega 5 JH are to be halted and scanned.
   
   
3. Contraband Recovery – Auxiliary Transports will move in to recover contraband and transport it for storage.

b. Tasks

• LC Morrigan: Act as a main hub in the ice field for smaller vessels. Conduct anti-smuggler patrols.
  
  
• Chase Flight: Halt and scan any transport vessels coming to and from the Omega 5 jumphole.
  
  
• Auxiliary Flight: Provide transportation for all seized goods.

c. Coordinating Instructions

• Orders will be given only from Officer Commanding (OC) aboard Morrigan.
  
  
• Briefing will be held before the operation commences. Up to date intelligence to be given.

Support -

• Snubs will use Morrigan to resupply.
  
  
• Capital vessels are to use Cambridge Research Station or Planet Cambridge for resupply.
  
  
• Transports will rotate as contraband is collected.

Command & Signals -

• Operation led by TBD, Morrigan OC.
  
  
• Regular situation updates via neural net comms as operation develops over several days.
