Slaughter at Kazu family celebration - Owari Securities claim self-defense
New Tokyo, 26.04.836
Bombs, firearms, blades found on some deceased Buddhists
In the early hours of this Sunday morning, multiple augmented soldiers from Owari Securities attacked and killed upwards of thirty individuals at and nearby a festival celebrating the augmenting of the third group of Kazu family "Onigoroshi". Near the middle of the event, multiple attendees reported the sounds of explosions, and ensuing panic was quickly curtailed by several loudspeaker announcements informing attendees that a terror attack had been thwarted, and that the explosive sounds were the activation of Owari-Securities "Ichimonji" swords, which use explosions to propel the blade out of the scabbard.
Responding Kusari Police and Office of Intelligence reported thirty-three deceased individuals, all dismembered and burnt with electrical-pattern singing, consistent with reports of how Ichimonji blades work. Both agencies also reported that improvised explosive devices, blades, and firearms were found on a majority of the bodies.
However, representatives from both the United Buddhist Monastery and First Kusari Buddhist Monastery claim that innocent envoys from their organizations were also killed in the incident, following a chain of similar reports since the attack on Kazu family shrines that notably killed Katsuherabo Junpei, and left young Katsuherabo Shinobu hospitalized.
Shortly following the attack, Owari Securities and members of the Reimei sect of Buddhists, notably hostile to Neo-Shintoism and the Kazu family as a whole, clashed multiple times on the streets of Planet New Tokyo and Planet Honshu. Following this, Owari Securities began augmenting and releasing their "Onigoroshi" soldiers, vastly swaying the outcome of violence. After that, a multitude of reports stating that Owari Onigoroshitai were hunting Reimei Buddhists on the streets, and were failing to only select targets associated with the Blood Dragons. The First Kusari Buddhist Monastery submitted an official injunction that Owari Onigoroshi were engaged in a religicide targeting Buddhists, owing to a 300 year old feud following the separation of Neo-Shintoism from Buddhism.
Owari Securities, the Owari family, and the greater Kazu family have denied engaging in anti-Buddhist attacks, instead asserting that they have only engaged in self-defense against terrorist elements within the Reimei Buddhist movement. Following this incident, the United Buddhist Monastery has also pledged to submit an injunction against Owari Securities, alleging hate crimes and attempted religicide against Buddhists. This also follows anonymous accusations that Owari Onigoroshi were engaging in private assassinations and hitman services, echoing controversial traditions from 300 years ago.
With investigation ongoing and Owari family representatives unresponsive to attempts to contact, New Tokyo Times will keep you informed with updates.
