I need help setting up a server

Ok...so I have checked out a few other servers and seen a few posts as to people setting up their own.


I have a few spare PC's laying around the house, all above 2.5 GHZ and I am going to install FL, the 4.85 mod, and all that jazz on it...on a new install of XP sp3..

the only questions i have is...how do i set it up, once this is all done, so that when people have capital ships, they wont get stuck on bases.


In some other threads i posted i was thinking about it, but im hoping...if i can get everything to work correctly, that we could use this server for...space battles of massive proportions, using RP or not, just for fun.


Assuming i can get the server up, and people dont red lag spike...and my 10mb internet is fast enough...i hope we can "play out" some major battles currently taking place in Reunion....for example the BAF VS Kusari battling across leeds, or Rhienland and Liberty battling on rheinland turf...


or just for fun....ive always wondered what it would be like if Liberty jumped in to assist kusari or bretonia in a fight, or if gallia jumped in to help Rheinland....

its just a thought...obviously i would have to set everyone up with about 1.5 billion to make this work....but yah thats what i was thinking.


Any thoughts? any takers?
