Well, I've decided that I want to increase my Junker Guard rep, so that I can feel safer whilst roaming around Junker space. I figure it would also be nice to have the option of arming my CSF with some better weapons, too. So I've essentially begun hanging around Rochester, killing Xenos, and/or taking anti-Xeno missions. I just wanted to take the time to point out that apparently... THE GUARD ARE NOT EASILY IMPRESSED!!!

I mean seriously, I've lost count of how many Xenos I've destroyed in the last hour or two of gameplay, but it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 60-70 ish, and gawd DANG it's hardly affected my Junker Guard rep!! I mean, it's definitely going up, but my junker character is going to die of old age first!!! I mean, still, after setting out to accomplish this task in the first place, about 120 kills ago, there is an ever-so-slight little sliver of a negative-rep bar in the Junker Guard slot. I tried forcing myself last night to stay awake and keep killing Xenos until finally I was 100% out of the negative-rep for them, but I just couldn't do it.

So what is it, like, one rep bar for every 250 NPCs I kill or something? Someone from the .:j:. passed by me outside of Rochester at one point (I think his name was Silver-something?), and he confirmed to me that I am doing the right thing, so I know I need to just be patient. But DANG!!!! Them Guard are just not easily impressed!

Ah well, at least the life of a junker suits me so well that I keep having fun in the interim. I discovered something very interesting about the New York System, though, which other people mention on these forums all the time but I never really saw it for myself before I began my Rochester-loitering escapades... It's filled with the most insane OORP chatter in system chat and it pretty much never stops!!! In a way, it was amusing... sort of like watching an episode of Maury Povich or Jerry Springer. Some of it was funny, or entertaining in some way, but the majority of it was useless and annoying. It made me wish there was a server command called /set oorpchatter none.

I also discovered that if I park my ship at the very tippy-top of the antenna on top of Rochester base, the Rogue NPCs can't get close enough to me to demand my cargo, which just got in the way of me killing Xenos. And I don't want to kill Rogues, so it was a good compromise where everybody wins.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that the Junker's life is the life for me!!! I just honestly wish there were more of us out there in space, because I get lonely sometimes...

Missions. Don't just kill NPCs. Missions do a lot more for rep.

Also, good luck out there! (and good luck avoiding the Xenos)

Heh, thanks! The problem is that I keep using up all the missions that pertain to Xenos! I'm already suffering from negative rep towards the BHG, from taking missions early on in my game, in order to become a junker in the first place. So now, when I try taking missions, it seems that all I am offered are anti BHG missions! I'm still trying to FIX that rep problem!

Are there other places that do anti-Xeno missions? Or anti-Hogosha, for that matter! I just want to stay 100% true to my RP, and as far as I understand it, I should only be killing Xenos and Hogosha.

Quoted for emphasis. Killing NPCs won't do a thing to raise guard rep.

The important part is that they're Junker missions, not what your target is.

That said, try Beaumont in Texas, maybe you'll find some there.

It is important to him, because he doesn't want to go hostile with the BHG. You know how annoying those NPCs can be ?

Eh, that can be fixed later, you can bribe the BHG at Philadelphia Station in Pennsylvania, as long as you're not hostile to the LPI. Speaking from experience, it's probably easier to do it that way than wait for anti-Xeno missions.

The secret to easy Junker relations is doing anti-Corsair missions at Trafalgar. You make good with everyone you need to, and Corsairs are easy to bribe back up. The only downside is it tanks your KNF rep for some reason.

Just don't do this with any Corsairs around.

I never had a problem getting anti-Xeno missions on Rochester, that was primarily what they offered me.

Completely off topic: Rudo, your avatar is extremely disturbing.
