I just need a clarification please.

OK, so I've seen this many times, and it's starting to become a trend. Maybe you've seen it, maybe you haven't. But the idea is simple, enter a trade lane and drop a mine while you are still docking with it and have controls of your weapon systems. You can also shoot the structure with a rearview turret. Then what happens is this; you get pulled through the trade lane, but the guy foaming at the mouth and beating a stick on his computer table screaming 'i'm gonna get ya! i'm gonna get ya!' following you, well, not so much. Since the trade lane is down.

I could be wrong, but my question then, is this a glitch? Personally, I tend to lean more towards yes. My reason behind this is that if the trade lane goes down, the person being chased would be dropped from the sequence also. But due to a lapse of logic in the game mechanics, this is possible. The way this works no one would ever catch anyone close to a trade lane again since CD doesn't effect you in the sequence of a trade lane.

Now, put on your helmet, dock, and cover. Let the meeting of the discovery minds begin.

Nope, not a glitch, smart piloting, to stop another ship chasing you.

I remember the first time I saw this in action, the heavens split open and the angels began to sing.

It's forever since been my favorite thing to do.

<3 dropping mines in lanes. OOOOH how they hate it when you do that!

No Glitch, the trade lane ring doesnt drop you out if you are already docked

By the time your mine hits you will be well clear so go you!

I use this tactic quite often, though usually i'm smuggling so I fly ships without mines. It's harder to pull off with a gun, but still doable.

But yeah, it is just a nice trick. I still can't beleve half of the people one chases don't know about it.

Oh and you can take dusty's word for it that you should not stop random traders while running away from an evil navy pilot, even if you destroyed the lane;)

First: You've got a picture in there that's 800x286 pixels. The maximum signature size is 700x250.
Second: Your other picture in the rotation fills the full 700x250 boundaries by itself.
With an image that big, you can't fit any text below it. Please fix this.

This is not a glitch and I'm 100% certain you are that BAF pilot who chased me Buc|Almando.Mixel , saying I was glitching by using this "technique" to escape, unfortunately it's completely legal and I will tell you how I do it.

I target the Trade-Lane I want to use. Two seconds before I actually jump, I fire a Nuclear Mine, and it takes more than two seconds for the Nuclear Mine to hit the Trade-Lane, so by the time I have entered it, the Mine has hit the Trade-Lane knocking it offline, and then the one chasing you is forced to take the next Trade-Lane, giving you enough time to escape.

Its a legitimate tactic, just shows how inventive the players are on this server because I had never seen it used on any other server.
