Green player attacking me?

I was playing with my character that I roleplay as a spy working for the corsairs, infiltrated in the samura industries.

I went in omega 41 something and I got pirated by a corsair, which I am friendly with (he's green to me). What's up with that? Is that against rules or am I the one against the rules for having a samura ID but claiming to be a corsair spy?

I'm not trying to get someone sanctioned but I'd like to know. Because it's a bit huh weird to be pirated and engaged and killed by a player showed as "friendly".

If your IFF is Samura, don't be surprised. Just 'cause he's green to you doesn't mean you're green to him as well.

Green or Red means nothing.

You need to look at someone's ID.

If you have a Samura ID then the Corsair player is entirely justified in having a go at you - There is nothing wrong with your Idea about being a Samura spy, but you have to understand that the Corsair doesnt have to believe you.

That's what I thought.. it's a bit annoying. So you're saying, I see corsairs as friendly but they don't see me green? how does that make any sense :wacko:

Makes perfect sense. You got an IFF, so you show up on their scanners as affiliated to that certain faction and it depends on their reputation towards the faction you are affiliated with.

You see him green because of YOUR rep sheet.
He might see you as red or white, based on HIS rep sheet.

Red and green mean nothing, other than YOU are hostile or friendly to them.

Edit: Because you had a Samura ID, you very well might be a corsair spy working in Samura (as unlikely as that is, it's still valid RP,) The corsair is quite entitled to pirate you based on the ID's. From his POV you could be an actual Samura, trying to avoid being pirated, or trying to get info on the Corsairs.

(Actually I think Corsair pirates are entitled to pirate other corsairs as well, but the sanctions say otherwise.)

The rep system could be as well removed (ok, no but all players should be gray at that point) because it's a bit like :: I've got a reputation sheet that tells me if corsairs are friendly with me but it only works with NPCs... meh.

I think I'm just gonna change my RP then ~__~ I'm going to get killed all the time by players who only wants to kill me and don't really care about RP as they only follow the rules not to get banned.

No dont give up. Just find a way around it.
You need to build relathinships with those ingame.
Once you've explained your RP a hundred times or so,
they might actually treat you as how you want.
Playing a spy on this server is (I believe) one of the most difficult things you can do.

But it is doable.

i think this is the right topic for that:

Recently we have two Gunboats flying around in Liberty thinking they can shoot and pirate everyone. A Rogue Gunboat and an Outcast Gunship. Well, they engaged me at 0,5 Range in my Bomber yesterday. I thrusted away and the one i wanted to meet at the Base was coming (Unioner Pirate Transport). They engaged the ship aswell and today i see some pictures of them Pirating and killing a Hacker Pirate Transport.

This is total wrong. Please dont try this at home. Isnt that already against the Rules? Attacking without knowing who their Friend is and who they should respect.
