Also, I figure that thousands, or even millions of Manhattan's inhabitants would die from those half-a-planet-sized ship wrecks falling through the atmosphere.:P

Yeah, guess so. It's just like the Dreadnaught patrols that constantly crash with Erie (spent a lot of time there while GC was down that week - thank god it's all fixed and working now).
I'm doing some modding at the moment, but it's mostly modelling and texturing, and only weapon/commodity INI's to be honest. So I'm not really sure about anything to do with patrol paths.
When the server is busy, maybe it's FLServer's way of freeing operations for players, and not NPC's. Make them randomly crash into friendly attributes. Nice.

Well the good aspect of this problem is that at worst it's only funny to see huge battleships crash on a planet.
I think it's worst for Igiss. Because a mod with npcs that are crashing on planets and stations don't look as good. (Personally I don't give a .. fecal matter ... about it)
