Well i will put it in couple words really.
If you still like to share an account and you would like to be safe doing so:
Type down an RP or OORP agreement about the conditions of the shared account. The admins will have something to relay on when making a decision if they will choose to accept this suggestion.
Yes i had the short end of that stick, as some might know i was banned for such an investigation, and while i was banned the person that filed the report managed to steal a shared LABC. Sad really, because it was someone who called himself a friend.

However, where would it be typed down and who could edit it? Somebody could just change the terms of the agreement to suit themselves, or change where they said that they agreed to the terms in the agreement so that while they still had access, they could steal the ship and the admins would be in exactly the same position as before

I don't see why the Adminstrators have to get involved at all in this. Your deals with players and whether or not you can trust or distrust someone is hardly something anyone else should have hand, act or part in. You take your chances.

Well, without directly involving the admins the agreement could be drafted and then filed with them. That way if there are any claims of stolen accounts they have something to reference during the investigation.

It also puts the responsibility of keeping the admins up to date with the player.

This is on the Rules thread:

Shared Accounts notice

Investigating unauthorised changes to shared accounts takes a lot of effort and it can be very hard to determine who is right and wrong.

As a result, the admin team will not get involved in disputes related to shared accounts. If you share your account ID with other people it is your problem if unauthorised changes are made to the account and the admin team will not investigate reports related to shared account access.

If you are not sure about the security of your account, please create a new one and use the /movechar command (see /help for more info).

How about people just get their own accounts or not play the game? Seems like a bare minimum requirement to me.

Shared accounts work well in that they allow people to try out ships without the expense of getting one just to test something they might end up hating. Plus, a few well-chosen ships on shared accounts mean you always have certain ships at your disposal for particular situations.

As opposed to SP, with Ioncross FL Character Editor?

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

It is more related to roleplay.

There are shared faction battleships, traders or smugglers, armouries, prison or slave liners and so on.
This way new players can make some credits or check out different roleplay on a shared faction ship.
