We are not too happy about this as you might think, we have valued the Corsairs as friends and allies for a long time, and still do.
We have done much for each other, and that is not something to be forgotten.
I know you may feel like you were betrayed with this, but I assure you that that is not the case.
I have always been an adamant supporter of the Corsair nation, having good personal experience with them, especially in my negotiations with Elder Carlos Benitez.
This peace was however, necessary.
While we sympathize with you, due to our expansion plans, we cannot be turned on two sides, and we had to find an alternative.
This was was extremely hard on our side, and we did not think we could afford to continue fighting it.
I offer you my sincerest apologies, and say that the dispersion of our alliance does not make me think any less of you.
The Colonial Republic sincerely hopes that our relations will remain friendly, if not allied because of obvious problems of not being able to assist you in battle against the Outcasts.

He had taken a sabbatical at Thira, and had been living there for numerous weeks, on the quiet base far from the hassles of the empire, for his health and wellbeing.

Colonials, it seems our efforts to supply your regime in Tau space have been worth nothing. I for one, feel utterly betrayed.
When we committed to improving relations between our peoples, it was with the understanding that we shared ideals, motivations, and a common threat. In the past the potential severity of the war with the Outcast had been offset by the efforts of your men, keeping our enemy fighting on two fronts.
We committed men to aiding your efforts on the Tau front. We committed millions of tonnes of precious resources, acquired by our bravest of pirates, along with weapons and other technologies to ensure that the Tau front did not fall. The lives of my very best men were risked in shipping these resources far beyond our region of operations, into hostile and uncharted territory for your benefit.
Months ago, I believed that like us, the Colonials believed in defending the lives of free people from enslavement at the hands of the demon drug and it's trafficers. Now, without the Remnant to stand in their way, I am certain our enemy will sweep through Tau space and flood planets and bases with their narcotics, stealing the hearts and minds of the weak people of Bretonia and Liberty, gaining influence which they will then use against BOTH of our nations.
However, what really disturbs me, is how thoughtless you could be. Do you not realise that Outcast forces no longer tied up fighting on the Tau front will be immediately reassigned to bolster the Outcast armada in Omicron-Eta? You are mistaken if you believe peace hurts no-one. The Corsair Empire is already fighting a defensive war against 4 enemies, on 5 fronts. With Outcast forces in the Edge Nebula increased twofold, I hold out little hope that we can continue to keep them at bay, especially while Hunters and Hessians continue to hammer at our gates, and resources become ever more difficult to come by as Bretonia and Rheinland gradually begin to fortify the Omega-corridor.
Countless brave Corsairs are likely to die in the coming months, as a direct result of your cowardice.
I find it shocking that the Colonials can so readily forgive an honourless empire that has cost your people so many lives! Rest assured, the Outcasts will not so readily forgive, and I have no doubt that if the Corsair Empire falls, they WILL be coming for you next.
I end this transmission of dissapointment and betrayal by inviting you justify yourselves, or suggest ways in which our nations can continue to be of use to each other. Whatever helps you sleep at night.
