in the course of the revision of older models - here is the bretonian Container transport.

the old model tried to catch the bretonian feeling - and succeeded somehow - but only barely. the result is a ship that appears more massive and somewhat larger than the bretonian train ( shetland ) - while at the same time being rather shapeless ( or like a handbag ... but none of those fancy ones )

so this one tries to approach the concept from another angle, while trying to maintain the feeling of it. - the front of the ship is similar - and should also resemble the train a bit more. - the "handle" on its back is now replaced by a massive spine that holds the containers. - one single engine shall make this transport less vulnerable to CDs ( from behind ) - cause ... like a train, it will drop the CMs far at its rear, while the engine hardpoint will be at the very front.

the whole ship has a lot less windows now, taking it into a comparable size to the train - but should still look fairly massive. i also tried to add bretonian elements like the forked tail and the rearwards swept stubby wings.

the ship is far from "good" - but i really do have trouble with the bretonian designs.

Oh god, Jinx i really love it, its the Shire right?
Is it still being heavy armed? I really love it, the Fighter Tail + the freighter/Transport like Front.

Quote:...like a train, it will drop the CMs far at its rear...

Do i understand it right? It's having a CM?

I only have a problem with a texture on the front.

But really. Amazing.

Looks pretty good, but what about turret placement? If they're to go on the roof of the pods then that'll leave the underside pretty exposed.

Also, will it still bounce upwards and spin wildly given the slightest excuse?

The current shire has no CM. That ship is sexy, though.

Looks like a very early concept for an Alliance sleeper ship or something? Like a mini one.

Or just a segregated gas container ship.

I like it, very out of the norm, yet an essence of Bretonia.

ah - yes, i thought i d place the turrets on the containers joints - which would indeed leave the underside blind ( a fact that i don t consider a backside from a modelling point of view - i like weaknesses on ships )

about the spin and bounce - can t do much about it. - the fact that small pebbles even spin a juggernaut upwards rapidly is annoying but not to be fixed at that time, i think.

about the texture :

yes, i know the front textures resolution is low... i ll try to fix it by reskinning it - its only a first skin for now - i m sure, i ll fix it before there s even a thought about actually replacing the current one.

Aside for some texturing issues on the nose of the ship, it's a good model. Keep up the great work.
