Talk to Igiss about it. He's probably not into allowing that. He already has level 9 weapons (that are better than a lot of lvl10) for almost every NPC faction out there.
Ok, firstly one of the fun things to do is *explore* the mod.
If you have played the 'vanilla' version of Freelancer, you will remember that almost all of the really good weapons were found on bases in the outer systems, like Omicron-Theta and so on.
I'll tell you one place where you can get the Purple Goddess from.....but not how to get there:P

As far as Factions creating weapons...... I can't see it happening. There is a very large number of new weapons in this mod already without Factions sending more to Igiss for inclusion in the mod.
Hmm. The reason i'm obsessed with chain guns is because I compared the C9 Wildfires to the C9 official Rheinland weapon (the name escapes me), they were more than three times stronger. And you can hit the dodgy NPCs which seem to jump around due to lag.

Yeah I personally think they're overpowered too, not only because the huge damage output it does for the refire rate, but because you'll compensate accurancy with refire rate, making it possible to hit missiles and mines pretty often.
They're not really overpowered... you don't get too many hits in. One Magma Hammer hit hurts a lot, though. If ships weren't so erratic in multiplayer, i'd use Hammers.
