This is the place to post comments, suggestions, and anything else that has to do with the Kusari Bomber and its development.

Status: incomplete model

This is not a finished model.

The ship is planned to have 2 turrets or normal guns (lvl 6 turrets or level 8 guns) (either way they will be mounted on top of either "hull"), and as always 2 CD/T points. It will of course have the mine, CM, and thruster as well.

Performance-wise this will be the fastest, most agile bomber. I was thinking something like, a little worst then the most agile heavy fighter. However this is balanced with the lack of supporting weaponry and poor armor. This will be a true hit and run bomber. My only concern is that it may be used to dog fight with even though the AMC projectile speed has been reduced...

I am open to any and all suggestion on ways to improve the design of the model and the ships concept. Please post. Your assistance is apreciated and somewhat needed. I don't fly these things enough to be considered an expert.

I made the post originally and I will check it, However, I can make no promises; I already am working on a BHG Bomber, have plans to work on a Bretonian Bomber and BHG gunboat, and RL (real life) has a tendancy to get crazy when you plan too much.

That is always a concern, but I think that you have got it pretty much figured out. The tips of the hull seem a little too boat like, but then I have always hated that look about some of the KNF gunboats.

We do need a KNF bomber though, the lack of one seriously hurts some of the KNFs effectiveness as we cant use other factions bombers etc.

I think the lack of serious firepower and hull strength will deter people from using it as a dogfighter.

When you have it working id be happy to test it out for you;)

heh thats the appeal to me, I kinda like that. Its quite funny I was just think that we needed a bomber for the KNF-S and then i spotted the thread here

I must say it would be a welcomed addition to the Kusari Fleet. I mean, anything to give us the edge, eh? :P

But am I the only one who thinks it looks kinda like a pontoon? Just wondering...

Actually, I thought it looked like a hydrofoil. But pontoon works too. ;)

An alternative might be to rotate the two hulls 45 degrees to the outsides, mount the torpedo launchers on the current tops of the hulls, and then put the turret mounts on the outsides. That way you have the focused frontal shot for the big torpedos, plust turret coverage in a practical 360 degree sphere around yourself. It'd also make it look a bit more spaceworthy than seaworthy:P

The boat/ship look is not an accident, I wanted it to be a logical lead in to the Kusari gunboat. I also wanted it to have a definate sense of speed and direction to it. However, I wanted to keep its size down as well, after all it is intended to be a "light bomber".

Thank you for your suggestions, interest, and support. :D

BTW has Igiss seen any of these models? Is he even interested in them? I would like to get an idea of what HE wants, after all this IS his mod... Anyways, keep the suggestions comeing!

I'm pretty sure Igiss has seen your model Mohr. I imagine he gets a lot of half baked ideas and unfinished models so he may not voice an opinion on this until it gets closer to completion.

I like how well you've picked up the Kusari aestetic. And though I too see a pontoon speed boat in it, I will only offer a practical suggestion:

You indicated you want this to be a 'light' bomber which I assume means less armor/nanos and a bit more manueverability. That sounds like a logical idea for the Kusari, who typically have more manueverable/slimmer ships than the rest of the houses. I wonder if the size of this ship will make such a light bomber too big of a target though. If I go off of the size of the cockpit for scale, this bomber is already about the size of a Kusari Gunboat (only with smaller wings.) Making a light bomber with a large hit box will make this ship a very easy target. Perhaps shortening the 'pontoons' by about 50% would give it less of a target cross section and make it more appropriate to refer to it as a light bomber. Yes, this is a drastic clipping of its hull, but you should consider that this ship is also wider than a gunboat by virtue of its twin hull design, so some balancing compensation would be good.

Nebotuda can't wait to flight test this new piece of Imperial hardware!
