Alright, I changed a few things, and for now I'm ignoring the other ship models associated with this (the LF and Bomber) - at this point, I'm just working on getting one working model into the game, and seeing as the HF was the original it got chosen. The others may be added later, or they may not be, it remains to be seen. If I can get this model working and in-game, I may work on a similar freighter-ish model as it's partner ship.

Changes Made:
-Moved the 'antennae' on the tops of the engine pylons backwards, to make room for two level 2 turret hardpoints at the front of the engine pylons (for mining lasers)
-Shortened the fins on the sides of the engine pylons to improve appearance and reduce target profile
-Fixed a few texture issues

Here's the new Images, unless something else big is requested, the only change to the model i'm considering at this point is the removal of the welding machine and toolbox on the sides of the ship - I just think the engine pylons might look a bit too plain without them, perhaps another detail needs to be added to compensate.

Here are the hardpoints so you can get an idea of where the guns and other equipment go on the ship:

A - Class 9 Gun
B - Class 2 Turret (for mining lasers)
C - Thruster
D - Torpedo
E - Cruise Disruptor
F - Mine
G - Countermeasure
H - Class 8 Gun

That said, this is what still needs to be done:
-Need help changing the ship model into a .cmp/proper file type for freelancer
-Need to figure out how to transfer the current texture mappings into the game along with the model
-Need to hardpoint the model (have no idea how to do this)
-Need to adjust the current ship's stats if this is to replace the bulldog (add two mining laser hardpoints, adjust ship power output and manuverability to be on par with other gallic HF's, need to adjust cargo so that the ship has some use as a mining/salvaging vessel)

I also need to rescale the model - back when I made models before during 4.84, I noticed that whenever I import an existing freelancer ship model into the same scene as the ship model I've made, mine ends up being about a thousand times too large (currently, if this ship was put straight into freelancer, it'd probably be bigger than a planet). I would appreciate if someone else could send me the current bulldog model in a .3ds format so that I can import it into the same scene and rescale this model accordingly.

Take this as a compliment...

if the cuirassier equates to a WWII fighter...

...this model equals a German bomber

Ironically, the bomber is a Ju-88. The "Ju" standing for bomber.

Anyhow, like the steampunkish/artdeco feel.

Sorry to butt in here, but actually, the "Ju" stood for "Junkers," the name of the company that built the Ju-88. What a coincidence!

Guess I should add the infocard as well:

Ferraile VBR-812 "Puma" Heavy Fighter
"The Puma is a distant cousin of the Combat Service Vehicles used by the Junkers of Sirius. The original design was conceived over a century ago, and has been constantly modified and altered to fit the needs of the Gallic Junkers. The most recent model, developed shortly after the start of the second Gallic Civil War, is a versatile and effective salvage, utility, and combat craft, and serves as the mainstay of the Junkers in Gallia."

Note: VUR Stands for "Vehicule Bataille Recuperer", which roughly translates to "Combat Salvage Vehicle"

I've also come up with a new weapon line specific to the Gallic Junkers, I should probably post this in another thread as well but for now it will just be here:

Ferraile Chalumeau Mk. 4 (Class 9 Gun)
"Originally developed as a tool to melt down scrap metal and debris for easier collection, the Chalumeau has since become the primary weapon of the Gallic Junkers, capable of melting down an enemy ship to it's base components with concentrated fire. This weapon produces a fair amount of damage at moderate range, but puts a significant drain on a ship's power supply. This is the newest and most powerful Chalumeau gun the Gallic Junkers have to offer."

Damage Type: Plasma
Hull Damage: 340
Shield Damage: 170
Range: 600 Meters
Projectile Speed: 700 m/s
Energy Usage: 67

Ferraile Chalumeau Mk. 3 (Class 8 Gun)
"Originally developed as a tool to melt down scrap metal and debris for easier collection, the Chalumeau has since become the primary weapon of the Gallic Junkers, capable of melting down an enemy ship to it's base components with concentrated fire. This weapon produces a fair amount of damage at moderate range, but puts a significant drain on a ship's power supply."

Damage Type: Plasma
Hull Damage: 220
Shield Damage: 110
Range: 600 Meters
Projectile Speed: 700 m/s
Energy Usage: 52

Ferraile Chalumeau Mk. 2 (Class 6 Gun)

Hull Damage: 118
Shield Damage: 59
Range: 600 Meters
Projectile Speed: 700 m/s
Energy Usage: 33

Ferraile Chalumeau Mk. 1 (Class 4 Gun)

Hull Damage: 68
Shield Damage: 34
Range: 600 Meters
Projectile Speed: 700 m/s
Energy Usage: 20

Ferraile Chalumeau Turret Mk. 2 (class 5 Turret)
This is the newest and most powerful Chalumeau turret the Gallic Junkers have to offer."

Damage Type: Plasma
Hull Damage: 340
Shield Damage: 170
Range: 600 Meters
Projectile Speed: 700 m/s
Energy Usage: 67

Ferraile Chalumeau Turret Mk. 1 (class 3 Turret)
Damage Type: Plasma
Hull Damage: 118
Shield Damage: 59
Range: 600 Meters
Projectile Speed: 700 m/s
Energy Usage: 33

It should be noted that all of these guns (with the exception of the turrets) do roughly the same Damage-per-second as Barragers, with slightly higher power consumption and 100m/s faster projectile speed to make aiming easier. They're also changed to plasma-type damage instead of whatever the barragers are, particle i think. Like other gallic turrets, these turrets do the same damage as the equivalent level guns.

Oh, by the way, for the guns, the name "Chalumeau" means "Welding Torch" =P

Ferraile, the name I prefaced the ship as well as the guns with, means scrap (metal) merchant, I figure it's the best translation for "Junker" there is. My gallic junker faction is called Les Ferraileurs, and they're a more lawful organization focused on salvage, construction, repair, and escorting, so it makes sense that they would build the vehicle. Hey, I modelled it, I can put my own name on it =P

Oh... wow.

I just had one of those moments when you type the wrong word because you're thinking of something else entirely.

Looks good, me likes

Can you make a size comparsion to other junker ships? Or any other ships, it just looks extremely wide on the pics.
