Well since the topic came up in frozen's kusari battlecruiser thread, I've decided to try my hand at making a Rheinland BC.

I've got images of all the current rheinland caps, fighters, and transports/freighters, so I have material to go on for design concept... but what I need to know is what the Rheinland players would prefer.

Do you want a smaller battlecruiser, something that relies on manuverability more... or do you want a larger battlecruiser that has more armor and firepower, but turns like a behemoth (figure of speech).

Also, would you prefer something that goes along the standard battlecruiser balance scheme (10-12 cruiser turrets + 2 battleship turrets), or something more along the lines of the order carrier (14+ cruiser turrets, no battleship turrets)?

Rheinland has always gone for larger and more powerful, at the expense of maneuverability.

I'd say give it more guns, more armor, but make it handle like a brick. Much like the current RM BS.

I'd say do the opposite.

Yea boss, they have gone with larger and more powerful for their entire line of capships... but if we're making a new-age battlecruiser designed specifically to combat the relatively small and manuverable liberty ships, wouldnt going slightly small and manuverable in it's design be preferred?

That's the reason for the poll, anyway. Both designs work, but it's a matter of deciding what the RM would do with a new ship design.

finally, someone gives this a try:)

I'd say something rather big with lots of firepower and strength, like Boss said, but make it so it fits in between the BS and Cruiser. Maybe give it a smaller version of the "neck" that the BS has yet still thos pillars and hump of the Cruiser. Also, I personally don't really like the look of 2 BS turrets, but if you do they would fit nicely on the sides of that "hump" that Rheinland capital ships have, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about and I'm sure it'll look a whole lot better than the 2 BS turrets on the Liberty or BHG Battlecruisers.

Hm... well I could make it long and 'tall', but have a skinny profile from the front and back, widening out around the middle where the 'hump' is.

I voted for making it look like the GB too, by the by. That thing is weird looking but I approve. The big blob on the cruiser is also on the Behemoth and a bit on the BS, would be nice to get the odd angular projections of the gunboat on this.

Base it on the current cruiser, but make it larger and with more PewPew, shure most rheinland officers would love a agile fast super cruiser, but as sayed before, Rheinland has always gone for Armor and Firepower.
So a heavy Cruiser with lots of Turrets (no BS ones, just lots), would be what the engeneers on Oder would design.

make a rheinland destroyer instead. rheinland has enough huge caps.

anyways, the battle cruiser should be agile. and i think cruiser guns would be better.

It should be noted that all Rheinland ships should be heavier then their other house counterparts for good reason.

The Rheinland landed in an area of space that was very rich in raw metals, Rheinland ships are meant to be technologically inferior to Libertys but them make up for it with pure raw power.

Its kinda like comparing a large calibre revolver to a smaller calibre slide shooter pistol, the slide shooter has every single technological advantage, it can hit the target far more rapidly, but with the revolver you will rarely need that second shot.
