In the light of present issues and, at the request of Bluntpencil2001, the QCP are separating from the BAF| to start their own faction, effective as of this moment.

QCP characters are being removed from the BAF faction status and the BAF| description is being updated accordingly. The QCP have their own message dump and skype chat and should therefore use these exclusively instead of the BAF ones from now on.

InRP the position is that the Admiralty have completely lost control over the Privateering wing which was previously covertly working for the BAF, and that in the light of the Zoner crisis the Ministry of Defence is giving instructions to cease the supply of ships and supplies that were previously being channelled secretly to the QCP, seeing as they appear to be being used against targets that the Bretonian Government does not approve of. The QCP will keep their current BAF ships, though will not be receiving any new BAF ships, particularly not gunboats, without special RP circumstances. BAF equipment, they will probably be able to still get their hands on through theft, fraud or smuggling out by sympathetic BAF logistics officers.

The policy of the BAF is that we don't mind QCP causing trouble for Kusari, but they can fend for themselves and no longer receive any special treatment if they cause trouble for Bretonia. If they are fighting against Kusari or CR, they can receive assistance from the BAF. If they are hunting Zoners in Bretonian space that have not violated Bretonian laws, they risk being arrested for assault. The general diplomatic stance of the BAF will vary depending on how useful / how much of a liability the QCP are proving to be at any particular time, though BAF officers may well have their own individual views and either love / hate the QCP inRP. Either way, they will still be expected to obey orders from senior officers, be they to rescue the QCP or shoot at them.

The new QCP faction proposal can be viewed here: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...=44744&st=0

This thread will remain open to address any specific issues / queries people (particularly BAF/QCP members) may have about this split. I'm wondering if the further distancing between inRP relations is really required? QCP can nolonger shoot Zoners via divine intervention, as per the faction warning. This makes the Zoner part of this void, the only reasons I can see this happening still is if QCP are now nolonger trusted from this incident, however I am aware of no other incidents or future plans to do anything that harms Bretonia.

Well, I should probably clarify a couple of things. First of all, this does not neccessarily mean a great distancing in inRP relations, merely opens the door to one, due to the new freedom of the QCP to choose their own diplomacy. I don't beleive QCP have been "banned from shooting zoners"; they can still pirate Zoners and attack them inRP where situations demand it, just not focus on attacking Gran Canaria to the exlusion of pirating in Kusari. More conflicts will arise as, by their very nature, the Privateers exist to attack targets that the regular BAF cannot and what the QCP consider "harms Bretonia" is not neccessarily the same thing that the BAF considers to "harm Bretonia".

So, no, a great distancing in relations in not neccessary but is possible and for that reason certain steps such as QCP not docking on BAF bases are considered prudent. Plausable deniability is made easier if we don't keep supplying QCP with ships, for instance. Now, that's not "neccessary RP" in the sense that any RP is really neccessary, but it is RP that I have agreed with Blunt and unless I can be convinced otherwise by some very good RP reasons, it is RP that will stand.
