Ok, so I was thinking. Who the hell would fly Correo if he doesn't have to.
Well... Now days.. noone.

want to know when would all smugglers fly one?

Mount something on it. replace a scanner. Make them invisible until they come 2 clicks from a target.
make them "stealthy"

500 cargo? sucks huh? totally. How about halving your chances of getting caught? Still sucks?
Well, take a fleet of them. Have fun.

But mount something on them to reduce the scanner range where they're caught.
aye?
nay?
shush?

A nice idea - something I might add to the "Trading Brainstorming" thingy.

Those smaller freighters need love.

I had the pleasure of intercepting a Camara full of Cardi in Tau-23 today. Thing has a tiny cargo hold and gets pushed over by a stiff breeze if you can hit it, but damn if it can't dodge better than the bomber I was chasing it in. If he'd actually headed to Cali instead of trying to make it to 29, he would've docked and been free.

If the hold was a little bigger, freighters would be a pretty good alternative when they're that agile.

How about makeing these Smuggleing freighter imune to Cargoscanns?
They would always show an empty cargohold, to all players.

"Me? I never done nothing, so can i dock at Manhatten now?" - and the police have no choise but to grant it.

There's also the option to make specific freighters cause the player to gain credits periodically while carrying specific cargo, kinda like the idea for liners a while back to generate credits while a 'bar' or 'lounge' or 'spa' equipment was being used.

But, it would have to only apply to specific freighters to prevent the lawful freighters from being used for unlawful purposes. I would say make the corsair/hogosha freighters give periodic credits when artifacts are in the cargo bay. Give the junker CSF additional credits when almost any sirius-wide illegal cargo is being carried. Not sure which freighter outcasts would use though.

Or any unlawful freighter could be made to generate credits while any sirius-wide unlawful cargo is being transported. For example, you're flying the liberty rogue freighter (the vanilla one) full of counterfeit software. Every 5 minutes, the game generates 2,000-5,000 credits per unit of cargo based on the cargo type.

tenacity that calls for afk cash whoring imo.
it would be nice if the nebulae effect or any sensor reducing effect could be applied around the ships

I really like that idea, make them maybe worth it. Say my normal route through the taus is loaded down with any of the factions that all sit in the same area and my secondary route has campers to, well if these ships had that I would load one up and fly it through so I was doing something somewhat productive. My only thought is there needs to be another tier to the freighter maybe a bit more cargo plus the stealth capability, also make them cost as much as some of the transports. Maybe 1000 cargo but stealthy with mediocre handeling? Possibly gunboat or less?

Besides that there needs to be stealthy fighters and maybe a bomber or two that have that. A few ships even talk in their info cards about being stealthy.
