Remember, this is both a hypothetical question and scenario. Keep it in mind.

In this scenario, the use of the /givecash or trade via window of credits from trader/smuggler to any pirate is deemed OORP, therefore against the rules. (Extreme yes I know). This way, pirates would be required to pirate cargo and sell it on the black market to carve a living rather then use the universal credit system.

The (extremist) RP backing behind this is that pirates can't access the Sirian Credit System to electronically rob a trader or a smuggler even. This means pirates needs, and I stress needs to do cargo piracy by robbing haulers.

The likely effect I can see on this is a major drop in fighter and maybe bomber classes resorting to escort duties and reshuffling of the 'lane camp' spots across the map. It all depends on buy and sell points. Sadly, I can see an increase in the number of gunboats due to their cargo space, but I can perhaps see people using pirate transports to acquire large amounts of cargo in one run.

Again, this is an extreme form of RP that I'm actually on the fence on, it promotes RP but may kill the 'stable?' income of pirates and may force a gunboat gank on the pirate side, or even traders losing all of their cargo in one go.

This is a scenario, what is your opinion and your theory of its effects?

Well, for starters alot more people would simply deny the pirate. I can also see alot of idiots demanding all the cargo from a trader ( I know that is already done in some cases , but what I mean is more of a "Gief all cargo r dai!").

On the other hand , this would mean that the pirates would have to abbandon their shiny gunboats and bombers and get transports instead. That or they would have to team up with other pirates, which is good I guess.

Aye the problem of the stigma of lol'pirates, it had to be said is that they go for max profit and less work. I would limit to a 1000 cargo or 2000 on Advanced Trains, but with more than one pirates session the trader would get insanely ticked off.

Seeing less gunboats for transports would be a God send and traders could even have fun fighting another unlawful 'trader'. It may, just may force the mercenaries into a massive boom in employment since there would be a need for escorts on both sides of the fence. It could help bounty hunters and mercenaries too, not to mention the corporate factions.

Anything to promote a bit more teamwork is great in my eyes.

i dont know where you coming form flech.. but now many more pirates are in transports making nice loads of stolen cargo.

I usually get a transport to be with me while pirating and preferably someone who is a pirate in a transport himself.

So i do not see a reason for that...

and "gwe all cargo or dye" is something that will and probably happening already.

Personally I like the idea.

I suppose at first the GBs might be used however they dont really haul that much when compared to a transport. If the pirates really wanted to make credits then they would need a transport of their own. They would then need to escort that transport to safe drop points. This opens up a weakness, so they leave the trade lane for a bit.

Another scenario, is where a pirate (with 500 hold) stops a transport (5000 hold), the pirate would only demand the amount he/she could carry. This makes for a more realistic and win-win outcome.

Then if the pirates were to RP they would look for specific cargo given their needs. This could add more depth to the RP.

Oh yes, don't get me wrong I do know of some cargo raiders, I'm a new one into this field with my gull, I NEED assistance to do it right.

I am not trying to poke anything, I'm just trying to open a discussion on this scenario to see what people think about it. That's the reasoning when I posted.

I wonder if the 'lol'pirates' will learn to use the set messege command. Ironically, I've never used it :$

I rather use them.. i have usually like 4-6 random msgs on my pirates.. something to make someone stop so the more interesting RP can begin.. and each set msg can lead to a different result. the problem i usually not include the demand into the msg because i believe we should RP first and decide what we will rob the trader off later.

nope.. not a loler that for sure.. but being a bit more "reasonable" to RPing traders is something we all should consider.. i always award RP and ofcourse a loler Trader will get a higher pricing rate.

Wait ... Whaaa ? Partied up with other people , I am guessing ? Cause if you do it solo , you get a hefty round of applause from me....

Also , cargo piracy isnt ololol. Demanding all cargo ( in a OORP fashion) or demanding unreasonable amounts of cash is. My only pirate char right now only demands 100k ... Or demanded.

I often pirate for cargo in my slave liner.

Its more in RP because you can get more money from it.

I also take bribes if the cargo's not worth it.

Pirating haz win.
