I took a shower.

And then it occurred to me that each house has a police.

It occurred to me each house has a military/navy.

It occurred to me, each house has an intelligence agency.

And then it occurred to me that none of the houses have Special Forces.

It occurred to me that the Liberty Navy could use some Navy Seals or Delta Force in their ranks.

It occurred to me that the Rheinland Military could use the RSG-9 (parody of GSG-9) in their ranks too (in the real world, GSG-9 is under the command of the police, but oh well).

It occurred to me the Bretonian Armed Forces could use the SAS (they might have to change the name a little...)

It occurred to me that I have absolutely no idea whether Kusari would even have a Special Forces unit :/ (but if they do, that would be awesome)

It occurred to me that these special forces could be used to strike deep within enemy systems to complete objectives that the navies/militaries cannot carry out themselves so easily since they would be easily exposed.

It also occurred to me that since most of these special forces units will be stealthed units (NOT meaning that they can't be detected on scanners...), it would make sense to see them around, scouting around for enemy bases, looking out for information, and even doing hit and run attacks on enemy depots. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised to see RSG-9 units flying around NY, or Delta Force/Seals flying around in New Berlin. I think the RP would be quite unique too, since they would be a coordinated, stealthed, highly maneuverable and quick strike force.

Seems like an interesting idea to me, what do you guys think?

All of your mentioned groups are ground forces and not pilots or air forces. I think we would be okay, if the respective factions will announce special wings, if they are in need of it.

Yeah, they're all ground forces. They'd probably hitch a ride on a Navy ship or something though, but I doubt they would fly them.

Navy Seals aren't out of the picture, there are still four spacial navies in place. More if you count unlawful powers.

Nope. We have limit of 200 players. Thinking of a lot new factions ... well seems silly. Like there possibly would be more special forces units then regular navy? No thanks looks stupid.

Edit: LPI already have SWAT.

I never suggested a whole new faction, the WCP was a division of the BAF (for a while), as is the SWAT a division of the LPI.

He didn't suggest a new faction, nor did he imply that they would outnumber the regular service forces. :/

Well from my perpective it could be done like this.. just give that special force tag to well pvp expierenced players. But I doubt they should have special duties or something.

Besides there is a diffrence. Seals are miltiary orentied, SAS are anti terrorist police force. They have quite diffrent objectives. (well despite the fact they are in diffrent countries)

Keep in mind that those are all ground-based forces. That said, they could still do some interesting things. Liberty, even, already has a tough freighter specifically for carrying personnel - the Grizzly (or they could just hijack one of the many, many Rheinland Behemoths that come through Liberty).

ETA: where did the notion that the SAS is a police force come from, ...where did it ran?

It's a regiment in the British army.

RHA has Hessian Tears, if I'm not mistaking.

Outcasts have some special wings also, eh?
