From the basic draft above, this Mantis Cruise Disruptor is designed for a close quarters missile that is meant to interdict traders in normal speed, but cannot catch up to ships already in cruise transit. Meaning, you'll need help, or superior tactics. But due to its speed, you got to get close and launch it, since CM's may stop them.
This missile will have the same detonation distance as a Train Disruptor, but will have the ability to try and punch through the transports shields while keeping their cruise engine stalled.
This is not a fast, or exceedingly powerful missile, it is meant to have two uses. Kill the shield, kill the engines. That's it.
I just feel that there may be a little gap to exploit.
First thing that popped into my head was this: FFA Inferno.
Seriously...that's what it would be used for. PvP. Faster than any torpedo. Homes. Smites shields. Doesn't use energy. Fighters will die in droves.

I think it's a bad idea. The hull hit points on that CD need to drop. You have to keep in mind that with a 20k hull stat to it, it won't just be used on freighters. That alone would take out small fighters with one shot if their shields are done. Horrible idea, it would greatly destroy balanced pvp.

You've got shield/hull damage backwards.
It only does 200 hull damage. That 20,000 is shields.

Sorry for the misread. Even still, how many CDs do you need. There are plenty and the high end ones do the job anyway. No need for a shield killer CD either. Wouldn't that just kill the balance of the game?
