So this does what, exactly, for us shipping from Liberty? We have to break Liberty's own Embargo, which means we become criminals, and are no longer welcome in Liberty. I see you complaining about opening our borders for incoming goods? Neither we care about the measures on the Libertonian side of the border, nor will the Kriegsmarine disobey the Kanzlers orders regarding this topic.
It seems that you do not care about this giant step the glorious Rheinland did and only see disadvantages, which are not existant.
As a native Rheinlander, I am quite distraught to see these tariffs put upon foreign corporations as they are now. I can understand the reasoning behind them easily enough, but the method being used to levy such taxes may become crippling.
Since the Tau Wars began, Gateway Interstellar has focused its main market on Rheinland, or more specifically ALG-Kruger and small local markets. These markets on Planet Hamburg and Planet Stuttgart help nothing but the Rheinland economy, placing money directly in the hands of Rheinland business owners and plantations. ALG-Kruger contracts put money directly into the Rheinland economy as well. Had ALG not been denied a ship-building permit, the capital we inject into ALG-Kruger could more than help your war effort in the form of military ships that would have been at a reduced cost, but it seems that Rheinland has thought otherwise at that. Small firms have always been the life of Gateway, and we have held true to that in Rheinland. To tax small firms as such is to kill them and ultimately kill the Rheinland economy.
What I suggest to the Rheinland government is to look at your neighbors in Bretonia and their methods of funding projects intended to ensure the safety of law-abiding residents and visitors and offer such an option to foreign corporations. Small monthly blanket tariffs would offer incentive for the continued supply of small-profit organizations. This would, in turn, raise prices by a small margin on foreign materials, but it will not kill the small businesses of Rheinland which run the local economies, as the current plan would.

Guten Tag,
I wish to discuss the matter of iridium, an item we produce in your class 1 list. Is there something we can work out on this? I ask because some of us run this in from the far reaches of the Omicrons to "The Ring" in New Berlin. Iridium is very expensive to produce due to the Nomad threat in the fields where it is mined not to mention the warzone between warring factions in the area. This also makes it dangerous and expensive to transport.
Also, once sold at "The Ring," I purchase Engine Components to take back to our bases so you are getting some of the profit money back in that regard anyway.
Being that we Zoners are pretty much the lone suppliers of iridium, could we get this tax exempt in some way? We could increase shipments if this helps Rheinland get what it needs.
