So, I've been really wondering how the Gallia turned out to be.

Personally I've made one whole trip there checking out all the systems with my trader a while back. And was in OORP doing so.

But the striking part is the whole Gallia feels like an expansion pack. A dedicated, albeit rather silent, following but lacking the great number of players. I've been watching the Gallic systems via chat window and it's mostly la handful of people there.

I understand the rationale behind making almost all Gallic factions hostile to the regular player and vice versa, but for me it's not working. Rather it ensures I keep away from there.

I somehow find Gallia to hold interest to me. The bomber patrols, the commodities etc. There's so much to explore, but really the biggest issue is that just being there means I'm OORP even in neutral trader. To me business is business. I wish we could change it a bit. Stage a coup. Open up the borders for people to wander in.

The second issue I have with Gallia is that it really is far away. I wish we could "find" more jump hole leading there. A little bit closer to the core too.

As it is Gallia remains an add-on for me because of these things I've mentioned. Personally I think it's a good addition and nice layout, but I'm disappointed how it turned out to be in lacking the players and not being able to pay a visit.

Those are my thoughts. What are yours?

Flying under radar.

I figured the lack of players is down to two things.

It's because A, the server is too small for there to be an evenly coated amount of players in all of the systems, never mind another house.

And B, All of the damn restrictions on No Official Faction, No Gallics Ships Out of Gallia to whatever extent, No diplomatic relations (yet). It just makes it a drab and impossible environment to play in.

I haven't actually been in Gallia yet, so no comment from me.

I just bought a Lynx Navy fighter from frozen, so I'll be going there tonight.

[17:45:39] Wolfs Ghost (Murphy): Tom, you have problems. Go kill yourself.
[19:25:12] Johnny (Jam): Tomtom, I will beat you with a spoon.
[14:22:56] Prarabdh Thakur: KILL HIM WITH A SHEEP.
[17:40:48] Eagle (Junes): Tom should be slapped with a spoon.
[11:32:18] Warspite: Thank you for being so awesome Tom. <3
[18:17:36] Metano: I love you tomtom
[20:06:24] Warspite: I will seriously give you epic head.

Yes, yes, yes.

The only thing that bothers me, like Ash said, is the fact we can't do jackall yet. We can just fly, shout random For the king! or For the Council! Or whatever, and that's where it ends. No diplomacy, no actual faction development, no nothing untill there's a chance Gallia can make official factions. Just sucksalot.

I'd like to ask the Gallic players that should the regular Joes have access to Gallia? With that I mean is the Gallia is hostile to all the others a good thing or a bad thing?

Because if the things stay the same the place is off-limits for all that are not in Gallic factions.

Never been there, took a look at the ships in the render thread in the media center and looked at their ships. Decided I will probably never go there. Although lately there seems to be an increase in people inside Burgundy for some reason...

In the last days i've been there often and made some characters of gallic origin.

The problem of empty gallia could be solved with people making gallic characters, so it's of course a server side problem - means restrictions, no factions and all that stuff - but you can play there, you can have fun there, you can do well paid missions there and there are at least some trade routes that are profitable enough to run them - but you have to do it!

What we need are, as already said, some new Jumpholes that make it easier to get there, for example from Tau 29 to Languedoc or from the Champagne system to Hokkaido. Maybe such come in 4.86 but it's a pity that we have a whole new house which is so less played.

And of course, the server is too small to have 10 - 12 players in every reasonable system, but when i see 25 player in New York who basically just sit at Newark and talk OORP or showing off with their nice cap i ask my self if it wouldnt be more interesting to visit us up in Gallia and have some new experiences.

I can't really have an opinion on the place since I have no RP justification to go there, nor have I really explored the place. But when I had a quick look in SP, the place is very well built.

Server contraints and the RP no official factions I think is jusitified until the full story behind the Gallians is fleshed out in public.

I have only been there a couple of times, one of which I tried to fix my rep in gallia and ended up screwing it up everywhere else. So yeah , I never set foot there again , except for the ocasional trade route when I am reaaaaaally bored.
