Hey guys, I'm attempting to start a new story with my LWB (Medic TF2 personality imoprt'ish) where he attempts to try and create a gaseous chemical that can affect the human body in such a way, that a person would throw up the Synth Paste as they tried to digest it.

Read the 2nd post here: Link

I think the LWB and Synth Paste need a brand new approach in the Discovery lore, and this could spark much more activity if executed.

I won't instantly go "Oh look a new weapon against Synth! FREEDOM!". I refuse to do that, I intend to evolve this over sometime and try to open trade/pirate routes with the black market to get things like alien organisms, Cardimine, pharmaceuticals, polymers, optronics and as a last resort slaves. As test subjects really.

This may help LWB get closer to the general local populace so maybe we (I don't speak for the faction by the way, we have leaders for that) could just smuggle and inter-trade with other unlawfuls more.

Oh the name of this drug idea is vindico which is Latin for liberate the online translators tell me.

So folks, thoughts and feedback on this? Synth Paste, I would like your opinion if possible!

Sounds like a sweet name! But where would it be produced, and who in their right minds would buy it?

At the moment the Shattered.Silo is the research bay as its a Gull transport, so its more like a labratory than a research centre which seems logical for patriotic farmers.

The drug isn't really something you'd buy. In the story I worded it as a non-lethal chemical gaseous weapon that can be deployed in certain areas to choke the Synth Paste profits. The Medic doesn't want to starve people to death so in his mind, he'd only try to deploy it to badly cut into Synth profits.

I think criminal factions may use this 'weapon' as a way to ransom certain areas of space, like planets or try terrorist activities on stations to starve them into submission. So it would be a bit of a siege weapon.

I haven't thought too much into it as a commodity or what others would use it for.

The Medic could make research on people who are allergic to Synth Paste to see what caused the allergies, and try to include that into his "drug". I gotta say, a nice idea.

I would wonder if constant or occasional doses are required or if this is a one shot deal

also worth noting is that you said that it mitigates the nutritional value of the paste?
what would happen to those who can keep it down after becomming exposed?

certianly you can't poison them with it.... but I have some more interesting ideas for alternative effects maybe an exposed person who can keep it down...their body moves the paste directly to "storage", another discouraging effect caused by eating the paste after being exposed

Allergies? Didn't think of that, I guess the Medic best put a little post on a bounty board, in RP though. And thanks.:)

Hmm, maybe it could work as a drug that needs periodic doses to keep up the 'unnatural resistance'. The effects of the drug in my head is that it would have an ipecac effect. Youtube that. You can't keep it down.

If the paste doesn't have any nutritional value, its basically unfulfilling slop. It just takes up gut space and you'd eventually fall it to malnutrition so keeping the Synth Paste diet would slowly kill you in a way.

well I would be up for brining my Junker in here for some RP as a test subject
while Geordi is not really allergic, too much synthpaste does give her bad indigestion
though I would certianly hope that her vomiting all over the inside of your ship is worth the scientific advances

Hmm, could be a chance for some good funny RP. Just remember, the Medic is not one for... painkillers or being careful...

consider the LWB now sporting a new Junker mechanic (and possibly unknowing test subject)
Mind you that she's from Manhattan.... she dislikes the Rheinland government, a good reason for helping you out... and the LWB doesn't really like Libertonians in general, a good reason for you to pick her for some of the tests

just drop me a PM sometime so we can sort out some kind of RP

this is strange alotta ships (both lawful and unlawful even some allies and such)need the paste aboard as most dont have the supplys space or are in space longer then normal "grown" food can last(crystasis only goes so far) and majority of them arnt large enough to have a hydroponics bay of there own not strange in a bad way if you can pull it off id be mighty impressed
