server problems

So as you can see from my sig, I've mostly been a SP kinda guy...but my girlfriend and I have been looking for something to play together, and I really wanted to do FL...so I did a clean reinstall and joined Disco...but it doesn't really match our play styles...we have little time already, and don't wanna spend it trading.

Thing is, when she tries to connect, it gives the server might have gone offline message. I know this is most likely my router...but what port or port range should I open up to make it accessable?

Another problem popped up, I just installed ICSO, and started it up for the first time, but it's been hung up at "Checking Server Status" for over 30 min now...

Suggestions?

when i go on internet it says conecting to global server.... and jst keeps on doing this. i have not had this trouble before,and before you ask yes my internest is perfect.my friend said there is a ling on this website to the servers, if so please some one give me a link. if not any ideas?

there is a direct connect option that bypasses the global server here somewhere.

also if you go to the folder where you have FL installed you will see two shortcuts..one for RP one for PvP....on my box it follows as such "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer"
