No need to go to specifics, just general terms. How was it changed? Any "focusing" the traders to specific routes?

How about the notorious slave/cardi or jump hole trading? Any changes in that?

Did the profits change?

EDIT: The trading chart xoria is talking about

The anti-Zoner movement is holding a parade.

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

Apparently Zoners were having entirely too much fun, making entirely too much money far too easily.

Sarcasm mode off.

RE: Zoner trade route deletions

Message Reads:

Imagine that I just had a drink, then spat it out. I am utterly outraged at our further lose of routes. We have the OPG blocking the Omegas and those routes through Kusari take damn too long. And they always end up with going to the Omegas anyway.

That lovely little route heading to Cali Minor with those Organisms had better not be gone, or else there'll be hell to pay.

We'd better have some shorter routes, or else.

Or else what?

Exactly.

[17:45:39] Wolfs Ghost (Murphy): Tom, you have problems. Go kill yourself.
[19:25:12] Johnny (Jam): Tomtom, I will beat you with a spoon.
[14:22:56] Prarabdh Thakur: KILL HIM WITH A SHEEP.
[17:40:48] Eagle (Junes): Tom should be slapped with a spoon.
[11:32:18] Warspite: Thank you for being so awesome Tom. <3
[18:17:36] Metano: I love you tomtom
[20:06:24] Warspite: I will seriously give you epic head.

No.

The corporations were not getting enough attention. (Avoid comparing them to Violette.)

Hence, double whammy.

Staff roles:

Robotic Components and Mining Machinery had most purchase costs cut by 50%, and profits raised by 20%. From their central sale points they can now be traded to several bases with the highest profits instead of being priced on a sliding scale according to distance. All prices for them completely rebalanced.

Superalloys and Superconducters had their purchase costs raised substantially, but profits also increased quite a bit. Silver, Cobalt, and Copper, Synth Paste, Fertilizers, Terraforming Gases, Optical Chips had their profit margins increased by 20% to 40%. Only "preferred" sale locations had their prices rebalanced, but there are at least 1 or 2 going to each House.

Scientists prices were erased and completely redone. Cambridge Research and Nansei Research are now the high price focal points, although they can be traded between other bases with various profits.

Vacationers, Tourists, VIPs, Passengers prices were all erased and rebalanced.

Basic Alloy prices were all erased and recreated with production centered at Planet Houston, Planet Hamburg, Planet New London, & Planet New Tokyo.

Light Arms purchase costs at Detroit Munitions were reduced by 30%. I may or may not do a complete redesign of Light Arms for a future mod version.

Top prices for many commodities were rebalanced so that the best profit margin is available going to the other three Houses equally.

Gold, Optronics, and High Temperature Alloy had their top prices rebalanced, and then their purchase costs were cut to boost profit margins temporarily. (This may become a revolving feature in updates).

The Sigma 17 to Munich jumphole was moved to eliminate it as the best path from Bretonia, and gold prices in Munich raised to compensate for the distance correctly. Planet Nuremburg pays profit margins similar to New Berlin for some Kusari products now.

Planet Cambridge sells Bio-neural Processors and Kansai Research sells Nanocapacitors. Those prices will be substantially reduced and those locations are intended to become the main suppliers in Sirius (outside Gallia) for those commodities in the next mod version. Prices will then be rebalanced for them.

Various commodities whose profit margins were previously cut by the lengthening of the shortest trade route paths have been rebalanced to what they should have been. Luxury Food is the most notable example.

Luxury Consumer Goods has a much higher profit margin, and sells from Manhattan to the other 3 Houses for basically equal profit margins. Smugglers should also note that Luxury Consumer Goods to Niverton is a critical leg in smuggling routes now.

Speaking of smuggling, several additional smuggling routes to lawful planets were created, and the profit margin difference between smuggling to lawful planets and smuggling to unlawful bases was increased substantially.

Gallic routes were rebalanced and profit margins increased by 20% for the best trades. Trade routes in Gallia are difficult because the systems form a straight line, but the routes for the most part are created to form a triangle, with Lorraine and Languedoc at two corners, and Burgundy or Dauphine at the other corner. Some two stop routes can be found if you look for them.

Shipyards were a problem, because a lot of trade routes went to them, but they didn't sell much that was worthwhile once you arrived. Spaceship Crews recently returned from patrol duty may now be ferried from shipyards to the nearest planets (and in some cases other bases also). Transporting Spaceship Crews is a pretty good way to get from a space station to a nearby planet now without running empty (this also works to get off of California Minor to Los Angeles). Scientists are another good choice in certain cases. The three jump gate construction sites now use Scientists to return to another nearby base after dropping off Gate Lane Parts, except for the Tau 31 Gate Site which sells Beryllium now.

Prisoners now only require 1 cargo space, which effectively doubles their profitability from what they were.

Bretonian MOX now carries the same best profit margin to most of the Liberty battleships. Rheinland MOX profits to Kusari were also rebalanced and raised.

A couple of commodities' profits were greatly reduced as a function of constant oversupply. Some might call that nerfing, others might call it the response of a dynamic economy.

Zoners now have a 4 stop route going from Freeport 10 to Baffin to Gran Canaria to some Freeport in the Omicrons (which one I can't recall at the moment).

So all in all, somewhere between 300 and 400 prices were specifically rebalanced, including many not mentioned here, and many more had their profit margins changed indirectly by purchase cost adjustments. The general trend was an increase in profits, at least for the best routes.

And after I had done all of that, I started with each base belonging to House corporate producers, and plotted out an example of a best trade circuit that returns to the starting base. Various prices were adjusted and commodities were added as needed to make this function profitably.

I suggest two things for any serious trader :
1) Head over to my chart in the Help subforum, and use those routes as the basis for relearning the trade system.
2) Whatever you are used to doing, it's time to evaluate everything from a fresh perspective, or you are almost guaranteed to be missing some new profit opportunities.

And last (so far as I can remember), but not least, the economic groundwork was laid for the Martian invasion of the Illinois system. Just don't tell anyone I leaked that info or I'll disappear down the hole they stuffed Hoodlum into.
